To someone likes nature, he / she usually makes ready to go to a suburb in the early morning of a holiday. I did, took a whole day's walk, sweated a lot, and of course shot some pictures. However, I don't know if you have the same confusion as me: those amazing birds or butterflies or insects are not always easy to be seen or shoot in my each travel. In fact, I often found nothing in a same place where friends on the internet could show many beautiful photos of small animals. I think, probably the time is not correct (morning vs. evening? summer vs. winter?) or the terrain is not the place that I am familiar. I don't know if there is a hole in the rock wall, or I should turn some leaves to find the world.

喜歡親近大自然的朋 友，假日有空時，想必 一早就備妥行囊上郊山 去了。我也曾經這樣， 走一天的路，留一身的 汗，隨身帶的相機多少 拍下沿途風光。不過， 不知道你會不會和我有 一樣的困惑，就是並非 每次出遊都可以看到或 拍到令人驚艷的鳥或蝶 或蟲的，網路上看到許 多網友貼的漂亮照片， 自己也去過同樣地方， 卻不知道那些小動物們 都躲在哪裡？我想，大 概是我出現的時間不對 (早晚不對、季節不對 等)，或是對地形不熟， 不知道岩壁哪裡有洞， 或應該翻開某些葉子才 能發現那片天地吧。

To Compared with suburb, the observation in your own balcony is a complete different situation: You are very familiar with the grass and trees there-any small change, for example, may be a hint to let you find suitable little actors easily; You can observe at different time-it may be, for example, a worm in this week, may change to a pupa in the next week, and may change again to a butterfly in another week; Or you can have a second chance to take pictures--when it is cloudy, for example, you may shoot a little actor / actress under sunlight on another day if the guy would like to stay on the balcony… 與郊外出遊相比，觀察自家的陽 台則會有完全不同的情況：你會很 熟悉那裏的一草一木，有一點風吹 草動都讓你容易發現各個適合入鏡 的小演員們；你可以在不同的時間 點觀察，今周是隻蟲、下周可能變 成蛹、再周可能變蝴蝶；或者你有 第二次機會拍照，如果當時陰天光 線不好，說不定明天出太陽，而且 小演員也願意還在的話…

Of course, in addition to having a good luck (perhaps the most important), it would be better to the observation on the balcony if you have a lot of love (love and have interests in the world), patience (especially on the day that you don't need to be at work), and willpower (setting up an electric fan on the balcony could help you take a long stay comfortably with no sweat in a summer). 當然，陽台觀察除了碰運氣 (或許是最重要的)以外，能有愛 心(視天地萬物有愛有趣，你才 會想觀察)、耐心(最好不用急著 出門趕上班)、和毅力(陽台裝個 電風扇，才幾百塊台幣，不用讓 自己酷夏還要跟汗水拚)就更好 了。

No. 145 Sunbathing (Erthesina fullo) 黃斑椿象日光浴 There are about 12 eggs in a nest of yellow-spotted stink bug (Erthesina fullo), and the larvae usually stay on my balcony for a long time after hatching. They may stay or roam anywhere, including all plants. It is a sunny day. Let's see how cute stink bugs are while sunbathing!
黃斑椿象一窩有蛋12個左右，幼蟲孵 出來後通常還會待在我的陽台好一陣子。 牠們不一定待在哪，各種植栽上都有可能， 並且四處趴趴走。 這一天是大晴天，陽光特強。來看看椿 象們做日光浴的萌樣吧!

No. 149 Metamorphosis (Papilio demoleus) 無尾鳳蝶- 蛻變 Butterflies develop through a process called metamorphosis. This is a Greek word that means transformation or change in shape. There are four stages in the metamorphosis of butterflies (and moths): egg, larva, pupa, and adult. During a brief observation on the balcony, I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to watch it all. Here is the report.
蝴蝶發育的過程稱為蛻變。 這是一個希臘詞，意思 是轉變或改變形狀。 蝴蝶（和蛾）的蛻變分為四個階 段：卵、幼蟲、蛹和成蟲。 在陽台的短暫觀察中，我很幸運有機會全部觀看到。 這是報告。

2. Caterpillar 幼蟲 剛孵出的幼蟲很小，葉子就是牠們的食物，但是食量不大。不要隨 便抓牠們，尤其是不動的時候，可能是準備要脫皮。脫皮時舊皮要 黏在葉子上，如果個體被搬移，可能會脫皮失敗。

3. Caterpillars (just after peeling) 兩隻剛脫完皮的幼蟲 舊皮黏在葉子上，蟲往前爬出，就完成脫皮。剛脫完皮的幼蟲會休 息幾分鐘，之後轉身把舊皮（包括舊衣服及舊面具）吃掉。如果沒 注意到這個過程，有時候還沒發覺蟲已經脫過皮了。

4. Final caterpillar (just after peeling) 剛脫完皮的終齡幼蟲 這個階段的幼蟲，呈現漂亮的綠色。牠已經休息夠了，轉過身正要 吃掉舊皮（舊衣服在中間，舊面具掉落在旁邊）。背上水汪汪的花 紋是假眼，真正的眼睛迷你小，在臉上。

5. Caterpillar (with osmeterium) 幼蟲伸臭角 突然在頭部伸出的一組橘紅色「V字形肉條」，伴隨彌漫在空氣中 的柑橘腥臭味，是無尾鳳蝶寶寶受到驚嚇時，要嚇走敵人的秘密武 器（假裝自己是會吐分叉舌頭的蛇）。哎呀！好臭好可愛。

6. Pre-pupa 前蛹 鳳蝶寶寶嘴吐絲，先把尾部固定在物體（葉背、樹枝、花盆等）， 再用絲線繞過腰部把身體懸好，形成前蛹。再經過18小時左右，會 脫皮形成蛹。

7. Pupa 蛹 蛹剛形成時是綠的（假裝是葉子？），有些經過幾十分鐘後會轉變 成褐色（假裝是樹枝？），因為是用絲倒吊著的，所以稱為帶蛹。 等蛹殼變透明，露出蝴蝶顏色時，就是羽化完成，即將破蛹的時刻。

8. Adult butterfly 成蝶 剛破蛹的新生蝴蝶翅膀皺皺不會飛，要吊著等幾個小時晾乾變硬。 漂亮的翅膀花紋是麟片構成的，難怪蝴蝶屬於鱗翅目。吸管分左右 兩半，併在一起後，將來才能使用，不用的時候捲在臉上。

9. Adult female butterfly (with spread wings) 展翅的女生 前翅用力往前伸時，下翅前緣的一對眼狀斑紋才會露出來。這隻是 女生，因為後翅表面肛角紅褐色斑紋上緣的藍黑色斑較大且明顯。 此外，不管雌雄，後翅皆不具有尾狀的突起，故名無尾。
