TCAP was established in 2002 to provide an affordable way to spay and neuter pets Since that time, TCAP has opened eight clinics. Weâve also added a variety of services including low-cost vaccines, microchipping, heart worm testing and prevention, and dental cleanings. TCAPâs prices are, on average, up to 87% less than what traditional veterinary clinics charge.
TCAP contracts licensed veterinarians who have extensive surgical experience and are well-versed in preventative animal care We also employ experienced and caring veterinary technicians who work alongside and support our veterinary team during their surgery sessions Our compassionate employees and our amazing shelter and rescue partners throughout North Texas help us in the fight against euthanasia in our area shelters.
The Texas Coalition for Animal Protection (TCAP) is a nonprofit organization that supplies low-cost services to those qualified for assistance programs TCAP provides services to those who are indigent and lack sufficient means to provide medical care for their pets TCAP is able to provide subsidized savings at our clinics thanks to the generosity of our donors and sponsors This savings allows our clients to care for their pets using low-cost copays.

âOne word: INCREDIBLE!! The staff was super helpful, kind, and thorough with intructions. I brought in my cat Carmilla for her spay surgery yesterday and was super anxious but the positivity the staff gave off eased any anxiety I had. They also provided resources for care for my cat post-surgery and now I feel confident that my fur baby will have a smooth recovery because of their help. Thank you for doing so much for the community

Every year, millions of pets go missing across the United States, with many ending up in shelters and only a small percentage reunited with their families. May is National Chip Your Pet Month, a dedicated time to raise awareness about the importance of microchipping your beloved pets to help ensure they find their way back home if they ever get lost.
A microchip is a tiny device, about the size of a grain of rice, implanted just beneath your petâs skin-usually between the shoulders This chip contains a unique ID number linked to your contact information in a national database When scanned by a veterinarian or animal shelter, this information helps quickly reunite lost pets with their owners, providing peace of mind and a vital safety net
Unlike collars or tags that can fall off or be removed, microchips are permanent and cannot be lost With one in three pets expected to go missing at some point, microchipping is one of the most effective ways to protect your furry family members Many clinics, including TCAP, offer microchipping services year-round, and May is a great reminder to check your petâs chip registration or get them chipped if you havenât already
This month, celebrate your petâs safety by scheduling a microchipping appointment, updating your contact information in the registry, or simply spreading the word to friends and family. A small chip can make a huge difference in keeping your pet safe and ensuring they come home.
At TCAP, we â re proud to offer affordable microchipping services to help protect pets throughout North Texas. Letâs work together to give every pet the best chance of a happy reunion.

Our beloved furry companions bring immeasurable joy and warmth to our lives, becoming cherished members of our families
As responsible pet owners, ensuring their safety is a top priority While microchips have become a widely accepted identification method, an unsung hero often takes center stage in the first line of defense against lost pets â the humble pet ID tag
ID tags provide instant recognition of a petâs ownership. Unlike microchips, which require a specialized scanner, an ID tag is a visible sign that your pet belongs to someone who cares deeply for them This can prompt bystanders or good Samaritans to take action immediately

ID tags provide crucial information such as the petâs name, your contact number, and sometimes even your address This accessibility is invaluable in emergency situations, making it easier for wellintentioned individuals to help your pet find their way home
Some pet owners even put information about the petâs medical conditions, like diabetes or hyperthyroid These notes create a sense of urgency for the person who found the pet or alert animal control personnel that the pet will need special medications until youâre reunited
Beyond their practicality, pet ID tags also offer a chance to showcase your petâs personality With a myriad of shapes, colors, and designs available, you can personalize your petâs tag to reflect their uniqueness This not only adds a touch of style but can also be a conversation starter with fellow pet enthusiasts
In the realm of pet safety, ID tags emerge as the unsung heroes, serving as the first line of defense against the heart-wrenching experience of a lost pet Their accessibility, instant recognition, and the personal touch they bring make them an indispensable part of responsible pet ownership.

At TCAP, we â re big supporters of pets â from the vaccination and flea/tick services we offer to the advice we give on taking care of your furry friends. So, when it comes to photography tips, we â re all in.

Youâre a pet parent â of course you want to fill up your phone with all those perfect pet photos. But your not just obsessed with your petâs pictures. Itâs their silly or sometimes downright sassy personality that you want to capture. Weâve pulled together some of our top tips for getting great pet photos â and the good news is that you donât even have to hire a professional photographer (unless thatâs your thing, thereâs some pretty good puptographers out there!)
Dogs and cats are a world unto themselves. Youâve probably heard that pets take on their owner â s personality â so if you â re a cool cat lady, itâs likely your feline is pretty chill too (or maybe thatâs just what they want you to think).
High-energy puppies might see your focused attention as an invitation to play, while more cautious dogs may need reassurance that the camera isnât something to fear. When it comes to dog photography, consider location, dog comfort, lighting, and patience to capture great images.
Cats, meanwhile, often operate on their own mysterious timetable That perfect pose you spotted might disappear the moment you reach for your phone. Many felines are also sensitive to sudden movements or the strange sounds your camera might make.
Natural light from a window creates soft lighting that flatters any pet. Comfortably position your furry friend near (but not directly in) a window during the best light of the day.
Most newer smartphones have a "portrait mode" that creates a professional-looking background blur This helps your pet stand out from busy backgrounds and creates a polished, studio-like effect with zero effort Just make sure you're close enough to your pet (usually 2-8 feet away) for this mode to work properly
Get down and shoot from eye level with your pet. This litle change can create a moreintimate perspective that lets you see the world as your pet does! Using Manual mode in this position allows for better control over exposure settings
Trying to capture your dog mid-jump or your cat during playtime? Use burst mode! On most phones, you can hold down the shutter button to take multiple photos rapily Later, you can select the perfect frame that shows your pet at the perfect spot you might not be able to capture in a one-off picture.

Are you a pet lover? Do you like working in a challenging, high-energy workplace? Do you want your daily efforts to contribute to a great cause? If so, then TCAP is the right place for you!
