one- on -one with our Daniel
As Summer settles in every community around the country, we wanted to know what is on the minds of our young people. We are excited to have Daniel share his thoughts as our Guest Editor.
Daniel, what are you looking forward to doing more than anything this summer?
I am definitely looking forward to traveling with family and friends outside of Greensboro. I have plans to travel to Spain and New York. I have been to California, Georgia, and Florida before.
Do you like to swim?
Yes, but I have never snorkelled. I have swum in the ocean water at the beach.
What is your most memorable Summer vacation experience?
Spending time with my Grandma and Grandpa on both sides of my family. My Grandmothers spoil me, and my Grandfathers teach me a lot of new things. I love them all and I have no favorites.
What are your thoughts about the Juneteenth Holiday?
I think it’s a very important and well-deserved holiday for African Americans.
Daniel just completed his freshman year in high school. He plans to continue his educational journey and learn new stuff after the Summer break. “I am still undecided on my career goals. My parents and I are putting some thought into it, but I don’t know yet.”

I plan to be a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., a celebrity fashion stylist & professional model.
If I could change the world, I would build shelters for the homeless and make sure they have all of the food and things they need to survive.

The most important person in my life is my mommy because she protects me from monsters, she plays with me and she’s always helping me with things like practicing my dances and helping me practice my lines for acting.

If I could change the world, I would give homeless people somewhere to live.

My mom is the most important person in my life because she does so much for me and always motivates me to do my best. She supports me in everything I do and inspires me every day.

If I could change the world, I would help eliminate pollution so the Earth could be cleaner and healthier.
I would make sure everyone had the things they need so more people could be happy.
When I get older, I would love to be a talk show host because I love talking, meeting new people, and making others laugh. I think it would be such a fun job!
