FOREVER IN OUR HEARTS FOREVER IN OUR HEARTS

FRIDAY,

Tangela had an exuberant spirit that was infectious! She dared to live out loud, with authenticity and bold expression. Her smile was bold and beautiful and her energy would radiate throughout the room. She was born to the late Willie Fred and Dorothy Mae Culliver on March 23, 1962, in Pensacola, Florida. She transitioned on January 12, 2026 at the age of 63.
Tan, as many so affectionately called her, grew up in Pensacola with her parents and five siblings, Labarbara, Vicky, Sonya, Raffeara, and Sean. She gained many friends along the way, especially in the tight-knit community of the Morris Court area. She graduated from Escambia High School and attended Pensacola Junior College. She relocated to Atlanta, Georgia where she lived for many years before returning home to Pensacola.
She was a devoted partner, sister, and aunt. Although she never had biological children, she made sure to nurture her nieces and nephews by rescuing them from their mothers and taking them on outings, trips, and summer stays with her. Her eldest niece, Knecole, recalls their trips to the movies, stating that one of her fondest memories was watching her smuggle McDonald’s or Burger King into her purse to save money because she had packed six to eight children in one of her small cars to catch a matinee.
Her life was a rich and diverse tapestry with much love and many highlights, and she was grateful for it. She was preceded in death by her grandparents Fred and Irene Culliver and Bolley (Buster) Martin, maternal grandmother Addie Mae Reynolds, parents Willie Fred and Dorothy Mae Culliver, sister Vicky Lynn Rich, nephew Charles Anthony Wilson, and great-nephew Justis Christopher Walker. She leaves to cherish her memory, her life partner Darrion “Money” Mixon, sisters Labarbara Culliver (Johnny), Sonya Culliver, Raffeara Culliver, brother Sean (Crystal) Culliver, nieces Knecole (Bryan) Foster, Charnice Rich, Shalisa Rich, nephews Reginald (Teresa) Smith, Artavis (Chiquita) Rich, Donald C. Rich, Ryan Rich, devoted cousin Donna Reynolds and a host of great nieces, nephews.
