Getting along with your neighbours

Being on bad terms with your neighbours can make your life frustrating.

Here’s some tips on how to get along.

Keep the noise down

Neighbours don’t want to hear you shouting or your music.

Having a party, tell your neighbours but don’t party too loud or too late.

Consider your neighbours

Things you do can affect them, think before you do something. If it’s going to hurt or annoy someone, don’t do it.

Keep your garden tidy

Don’t let the plants get overgrown, cut the hedges back, keep it clear of rubbish.

Untidy gardens attract rats and other pests.

Smile, be nice

Treat your neighbours in the same way as you’d like them to treat you.

If you don’t want to be shouted at, don’t shout at your neighbours.

Got a problem, talk to them in a friendly polite way.

Be a responsible pet owner

Keep your pets under control so they don’t upset your neighbours.

If you have a dog, train it not to bark, take it for walks and clean up your dogs poo when out for a walk and from your garden.

Good neighbours

When you get along with your neighbours it makes everyone happy.
