Our services include initial type testing in compliance with all applicable European standards Additionally, we support you with pre-testing for the US EPA market for wood stoves. As an accredited laboratory by DANAK, a Notified Body (NB no. 1235), and a certified testing facility for both Flamme Verte and Blue Angel (Blauer Engel), we ensure your products meet the highest standards.

Our laboratory complies with all European standards and offers US EPA pretesting to prepare your products for the US market.
We are also accredited to test according to the Norwegian NS3058/59 standard, DEFRA smoke control requirements, and are certified as a Flamme Verte and Blue Angel (Blauer Engel) laboratory.

If you are looking for an American adventure, we can help you in the process of getting there. American standards are very different from the known European standards, which is why it can be extra challenging to pass the EPA requirements.
If needed, we offer pre-testing in our laboratory to see where the appliance is according to the requirements, or full R&D consultancy collaboration in process to prepare the appliance for final testing elsewhere.
During initial testing we gained valuable feedback on how to proceed and what small changes to make on our stove for the US market.
It is very positive that we can be present in the lab during testing. That way, we can set operating parameters correctly before testing.
Testing of biomass boilers and pellet burners
The Laboratory for Solid Fuel Burning Appliances provides accredited testing services designed to meet your specific requirements. Our services include testing in accordance with EN 303-5, assistance with boiler adjustments prior to testing, and support in finalizing the required documentation.
We offer the following testing service:
Type test of biomass boiler up to 500 kW in accordance with EN 303-5:2012
Field test of biomass boilers from 200 – 1000 kW (with mobile laboratory) in accordance with EN 303-5:2012
