KITTLEY RETURNS BULK OF OFFENSE There will be plenty of firepower returning to the Red Raider offense this spring as Texas Tech brings back two of its top quarterbacks in Tyler Shough and Behren Morton as well as its leading rusher in Tahj Brooks and each of its top-five leading receivers, including Freshman All-American wideout Jerand Bradley. n The added experience will be a welcome sight for second-year offensive coordinator Zach Kittley, who pushed the Red Raiders to 34.2 points and 461.4 yards of total offense per game despite utilizing three different starting quarterbacks throughout the season. n

CONSTRUCTION UNDERWAY AT TECH Joey McGuire called it before his debut season. He said “we’re going to beat Texas and Oklahoma and then two days later, we’re going to knock down the south end zone.” Texas Tech began its largest facility investment in athletics history less than 24 hours after the Red Raiders topped Oklahoma as demolition started to make way for the more than $200 million south end zone and Dustin R. Womble Football Center project. n Due to the ongoing construction project, Texas Tech will move its annual Spring Game to Lowrey Field at PlainsCapital Park, the home to Lubbock ISD, on April 22. Television coverage will be provided via Big 12 Now on ESPN+. n

Texas Tech enters its second season under head coach Joey McGuire, who led the Red Raiders to a memorable debut that featured eight wins for the first time since 2013, its most Big 12 wins since 2009 and a victory over Ole Miss in the TaxAct Texas Bowl. n McGuire became only the fifth head coach in program history to win at least eight games in his debut season and the third to do so while also winning a bowl game, joining both Tommy Tuberville (2010) and Kliff Kingsbury (2013) on that list. Neither Tuberville or Kingsbury were able to post five Big 12 wins in their debut season, however.
