WHO WE ARE Team BRIT is a competitive racing team of disabled drivers. We aim to be the first British all-disabled team to race in the Le Mans 24 hour, and through our Racing Academy, we support drivers with physical and psychological challenges in accessing motorsport. OUR VISION To support, inspire and motivate people facing physical and psychological challenges by demonstrating what can be achieved through motorsport OUR MODEL We’re the Netflix of motorsport – we’re disrupting the norm and changing the rules. We’re not a charity, we don’t provide free racing – but we do create ways for people to achieve their impossible.

We are proud advisors to industry leaders, racing teams, engineers and drivers. Through the sharing of our unique experience and insight in adaptive motorsport, we provoke change and enable others to move forward with their racing goals.
• There are more disabled racing drivers in the UK than the rest of the world put together and over 50% of these started with Team BRIT. • We have helped Motorsport UK in their work to modernise the licencing process for disabled drivers, a process that we hope will be replicated by motorsport governing bodies around the world. • We are supporting Motorsport UK’s drive towards accessibility in motorsport, with our team members participating in key disability working groups • Team BRIT founder Dave Player was a key contributor to the FIA’s disability ‘task force’ sharing best practice on accessibility within the sport • Our revolutionary racing hand controls are used by racing teams and private drivers across the world

T E C H N I C A L I N N O VAT O R S Our racing hand control technology is worldleading and allows drivers with diverse disabilities to race on equal terms and to race as part of one team, on track and online. A COMPLEX SOLUTION TO A SIMPLE PROBLEM Traditional push/pull hand controls put disabled drivers at a disadvantage on the race track. If they need to remove a hand from the steering wheel to access the push/pull lever, precious time can be lost. Our solution uses fly by wire technology and electronic braking systems to enable everything to take place with both hands on the wheel.

BESPOKE INNOVATION Our racing drivers are not the only beneficiaries of this technology. We provide tailored engineered solutions to clients with complex needs. Recent innovations include joystick style solutions integrated with our hand controls for a tetraplegic with poor hand function, and hand controls for a former British champion quad bike racer.

SUPPORTING INCLUSION ON AND OFF THE TRACK We support people with physical and psychological challenges and support inclusion drives in all areas of industry. AUTISM AWARENESS
INFLUENCING BUSINESS
We know that motorsport has a huge impact on people living with autism. What cripples them in their every-day life becomes their super power, as their analytical, meticulous thinking becomes their advantage on the race track. We’re helping a number of teenage drivers through Team ‘Racing With Autism’, supporting them in entering competitive events and learning more about the sport. They are the Team BRIT drivers of the future.
Our drivers provide talks and presentations on diversity and inclusion to global businesses, sharing their stories and helping organisations better understand the day to day issues facing disabled colleagues. Moving to online platforms during the pandemic, a recent event saw drivers presenting to more than 900 employees across the world.
DEVELOPING LIFE SKILLS We welcome people facing challenge into all areas of our business. Our Race Engineer supports and mentors an apprentice with mental health challenges in the Team BRIT workshop, helping him learn the skills of motorsport engineering with a view to supporting him through his career for years to come.
INSPIRING OTHERS We believe we have a duty and responsibility to inspire and motivate anyone facing challenge. You don’t have to be a racing driver to benefit from our story and to share our ethos to believe and achieve.
CREATING UNFORGETTABLE EXPERIENCES We’ve invited young people with disabilities to the race track and to our workshop to show them what opportunities are ahead of them with the right support. 5-year-old Tony ‘Bear’ Hudgell who lost both his legs after suffering abuse at the hands of his parents as a baby, enjoyed a visit to our HQ, time on our top of the range simulator, a spin around the track and the gift of his very own electric car.

LEADERS IN DIVERSITY We want to shake up the picture of motorsport on every level. Disabled drivers are under-represented but so are women. That’s why we’re proud to have recruited our first ever female disabled driver who is on a journey to become the fastest female disabled driver in the world.
GRASSROOTS RACING FOR ALL We believe true accessibility must start at every level of our sport. That’s why we offer support to disabled drivers at the very beginning of their racing journey.

RACING ACADEMY
E-SPORTS
Our roots are in karting, through our linked charity, KartForce. We help kart circuit owners ensure they are inclusive by providing hand controls for use by disabled clients.
Launched in 2019, the Team BRIT Racing Academy is the first of its kind, providing race tuition and coaching to disabled drivers at race circuits across the UK. More than 80 drivers took part in the Academy in its first year.
eTeam BRIT is in its third year and serves as our sim racing arm. Disabled sim racers compete in championships taking place on virtual tracks all over the world. Former F1 legend Jenson Button recently joined its GT series, racing against our drivers.

Newest potential rookie Anjali (Anji) Silva has begun trying out for the team, being assessed to see if she could be the next team rookie. 32-year-old Anji from South Croydon has been active in sport for years, from swimming to Lacrosse. She was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2018 and was introduced to the team this year. “I was really happy when I came across this opportunity and having had a chat with Dave Player, I’m very much excited about the potential to become a rookie racing car driver, and proud to be one of the only female rookies to have tried out for Team BRIT.”
