AUF CED seniors acclaim 4 spots in AUF-TOS 2022 By Joshua G. Javier and Jinelle Bianca Sison

Proudly donning their purple-hued pre-service teacher uniforms, senior AUF College of Education (CED) students occupied four (4) spots in the annual The Outstanding Students (TOS) Awards 2022, previously announced last June 29, via Angeles University Foundation's official Facebook page.

After a series of processes and interviews, four CED students made it to the list, proving their wits, talents, and leadership skills to the school body.

These awardees are Trisha Mae Chu of BSED Science IV, Outstanding Student for Research; Danica Mae Calma of BSED - Social Studies IV, Outstanding Student for Christian Formation and Finalist for Leadership; Jeff Francis Cayanan of BSED - Science IV, Outstanding Student for Performing Arts; and John Lester Santiago of BSED Social Studies IV, Finalist for Leadership and Community Service. CED’s Chu, Tayag among 785 new DOST Jr. Iskos By Yancy Moron

Both failure and subsequent success propelled then-third year Science major students Trisha Mae Chu and Louis Andrew Tayag as they were enjoined by 783 other new scholars of the 2020-2021 Department of Science and Technology - Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI) Junior Level Science Scholarships (JLSS), which saw its induction ceremony virtually last August 20.

Aside from the pandemic-induced preparation of both the DOST and student-aspirants for this year’s search, the process of deliberating the new scholars was taken into a different turn, as the traditional qualifying examination was opted out to usher a newer and more practical eligibility screening process, which employed DOST’s data analytics to adjudge the takers and the pertinent forms that they have submitted. Centering on the theme, “Redefining Journalistic Information Dissemination in the Age of Misinformation,” the Teacher’s Pen (TPen), in collaboration with the College Student Council (CSC), held its maiden journalistic skills webinar-training last March 19. The said activity aimed to impart journalistic skills and raise awareness regarding media literacy to the pre-service teachers of Angeles University Foundation - College of Education.
