Study Checklist

How to use this material: This checklist is made from the EAQUALS Core Inventory for General English, which establishes the core content one should know from the A1 level (beginner) to the C1 level (advanced). The topics are the ones that should be covered as the core of English language taught at Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) levels A1 to C1 in English. Only the features most commonly included at each level have been listed. You should study and then revise these topics as you feel the need. Moving forward, one should be certain of the items used in the previous levels. There are some “between level” moments, in which the student will start checking some items in the next level, but hasn’t yet mastered all the content of the previous level. Use this as a guideline for our directed study. Start by checking the items that you already know from the levels below yours, revise those you don’t feel so certain about. Then, go to your own level and start by identifying the items you feel comfortable with. Revise them and write down any questions you have. Go to the next level and see if you already know some topics and use the checklist to measure your progress. Study every week for at least 3 hours. Divide your time between what’s new to you and the revision of previous topics. As you go along the topics, questions may arise. Write them so I can clarify your doubts in the classes. Celebrate your progress as you go, and use the Studying English Bingo to assess your development. The monthly and the weekly planner serve as a way for you to better organize yourself and your studies. Happy learning! Cheers, Mariana
