Plan for content Your writing should be structured so it is easy to read and understand. You need to organise your ideas into paragraphs, and you also need to link your ideas. This is called coherence and cohesion. Brainstorm for about 3-5 min what you are going to include in your writing. For essays, you should start by determining your thesis statement.

Using Learner’s dictionaries may be very helpful, as well as Thesaurus and synonyms dictionaries. Using corpora to validate your sentences and to find uses for vocabulary you want to include.
