Day One: Leadership and Alignment

Gold Coast, QLD — May 2026

The Distributors marked an incredible milestone – 45 years in business with a highly successful Mid Year Conference held at the prestigious JW Marriott Gold Coast Resort & Spa, bringing together members, supplier partners, and key stakeholders from across the network.

A Strong Start with Leadership Alignment

The conference commenced with board meetings and leadership sessions, setting a strategic foundation ahead of the broader program. Early arrivals and exclusive engagements, including a whisky tasting and welcome dinner, provided an opportunity for senior leaders and Gold members to reconnect and align on priorities.

Day Two: Collaboration Across the Network

From Tuesday, the event expanded to welcome over 200 delegates, with a full program of business sessions, supplier engagement, and networking opportunities.

Members-only discussions were followed by broader sessions focused on business updates, performance, and future direction.

Breakout sessions enabled tailored engagement across customer tiers, while supplier presentations and showcases reinforced the strength and diversity of The Distributors’ network.

A vibrant poolside welcome dinner capped off the day, creating a relaxed environment for attendees to connect and celebrate the organisation’s legacy and ongoing success.

Day Three: Insight, Innovation and Inspiration

Wednesday delivered a full day of conference sessions and business showcases, highlighting innovation across categories, new product opportunities, and evolving customer strategies.

A keynote presentation provided fresh perspective and inspiration, encouraging forward-thinking approaches and reinforcing the importance of adaptability in a changing market.

The evening saw delegates transported to Miami Marketta for a lively State of Origin-themed dinner, combining entertainment, food, and networking in a uniquely Australian setting.

Day Four: Driving Performance and Wellbeing

Thursday continued with further business showcases, alongside a growing focus on wellness and performance.

The morning began with a Suntory Wellness Walk, followed by sessions focused on practical application and commercial opportunities.

A dedicated wellness afternoon allowed delegates to recharge through interactive experiences, while key shareholder discussions ensured strong governance and alignment at the highest level.

Celebrating Excellence in Style

5 8.33% Fair

1 1.67% Poor

1 1.67% I did not attend

What did you enjoy most about the social functions, and how could they be improved?

Networking and Interacting with fellow peers and suppliers

All ran very well

Being able to socialise with each other outside of speed dating

Excellent hospitality and great food. Best conference I have ever attended

Getting to know everyone is a relaxed environment. Better music not so loud, ok if your dancing not trying to talk to people

Good to connect with others

Great environment to network and connect in a relaxed environment

Hospitality was good entertainment and interaction for guests not as good as previous years

I love the lux sit down dinner, I would like to see a comedian at the gala dinner

I think the social functions could be a little more interactive, a “team” exercise ie. Escape rooms etc.

I find people break off into smaller groups consistently

I’m not sure a speaker was the right fit in the middle of the gala dinner?

Overall they were a good vibe

Interaction with the members

Miami Marketta was the pick of the three social events

More team building and less alcohol centric gatherings

Music at the welcome dinner was too loud for the occasion

Music at welcome dinner & gala dinner after party was way too loud

Event was amazing

Overall I enjoyed the opportunity to connect with key customers in the one location

Social functions are adequate

Mid-Year Recap

2026 Mid-Year Conference

Post Event Survey Results cont.

State of Origin Dinner

The company, food and drinks were great

The music was loud and at times was hard to hear others when talking

The origin experience offsite was great. Interactive and ability to roam / chat to people in a relaxed environment

The relaxed nature

The social aspect

Very relatable to all

Well done for getting the hotel bar to stay open after. The room on Tuesday evening and the Red Bull after party is a great location - A couple of noise challenges but overall fit for purpose.

How

What interactive events or activities would you like to see added?

More fun activities and less time sitting in a room

I think the social functions could be a little more interactive, a “team” exercise ie. Escape rooms, laser tag, etc (depending on location availability)

Interactive sessions with key Shed Operators

Less speakers and some entertainment in night time events

More activities not needed

More entertainment at the gala

Rather than “inspirational speakers” I’d rather see more industry analysis or top level economic analysis. For the gala it should just be entertainment

Some team building and interaction outside of only business sessions & dinners

Team Building like the last Allstars Conference

The activity Balance was fine, hard to fit in much else

Zero downtime for members. The Mid-year is a big commitment from members, it would have been nice to reward our key staff with some social-time/activity that wasn’t primarily a drink-fest (i.e. a show, game of golf, or a day at one of the theme parks etc)

Please provide any comments on the Business Showcase Presentations

10 minutes was not enough, 15 minutes was better, the 2minutes for transition was fine

Having a choice fro next year would be more ideal and less time wasting. I believe having the choice of who to see is more proactive

I found the 10 minutes to be too short. I prefer th 15 minute time slots. I also understand the need to balance as well. I think I had more meetings this year which was great

I think the slightly shorter timeframe kept suppliers on task, It’s a busy few days but a great opportunity to work with suppliers if you have a plan

Much better to do one main presentation to all members at once vs individually as this is more effective use of time

Need 15 minutes to discuss presentation further

Presenters weren’t very engaging, story telling presentation skills could be very useful

Smiths talked about grocery category management

This set up is great

2026 Mid-Year Conference

Post Event Survey Results cont.

Time for a change. Same format for last 4 conferences. Gold suppliers left confused and at a loss as to how to spend their free time.

Time slot with members and retailers needs to revert back to 15 minutes. Lack of retailers present was disappointing.

To be brutally honest its a waste of time to see suppliers we see on a regular basis, more time for bronze and outline a template for them to present, including plans and how they can benefit the member and the group, not just slides of NPD etc.

Was a bit rapid fire (some didn’t even show up)

A great MC

Entertaining and relevant

Great sense of humour

He had lots of energy :) talked a lot

He was the best in years! Well researched, great energy, entertaining, but not fake enthusiasm I think he was great, really interactive and knew us and what he was doing Loved his energy and thought he was great at the gala evening.

Mindful of talking over people in the 1/1 sessions. It’s loud and trying to finish conversations in the 10 mins.

More of the same.

Should lose the fake radio voice and talk slower so people can understand whatever it was he was saying.

Very Entertaining.

Accredited Distributors Tradeshow 50th Year in Business

From the humble beginning in 1976 Accredited Distributors has grown into the FMCG company that has delivered great brands across Victoria and NSW.

The Trade Show has been a fantastic opportunity to connect with customers, partners, suppliers, and friends, and your presence has made this event a tremendous success. We sincerely appreciate everyone who visited our suppliers, shared ideas, asked questions, and took the time to place orders during the day. Attendance and Sales during the day hit a new record for the company.

Of course, no golden anniversary celebration would be complete without a few surprises!

PepsiCo presented Branch managers Framed 50th Jersey, Mondelez Cadbury presented a cake to be share and Red Bull Cocktails flowed during the evening.

We had two guests artists join us. We knew that they’ll bring plenty of entertainment, laughter, and perhaps a few unexpected moments that will make this a night to remember.

The dance floor was alive when Craig welcomed Anthony Callae and Tim Campbell to the stage.

Here’s to 50 years of success, strong partnerships, and lasting friendships –and to an exciting future as we continue this journey together.

50th Year in Business cont.

Hear what Craig Bain had to say....

Tonight is a very special occasion as we celebrate 50 years of Accredited Distributors.

Fifty years is an extraordinary milestone for any business, and it’s a wonderful opportunity to reflect on where we started, acknowledge those who helped us along the way, and celebrate what we’ve become.

Back in April 1976, Father and son Terry and Vic Booth, had a vision.

They saw an opportunity to build a distribution business founded on hard work, strong relationships, integrity, and service.

Like many successful Australian businesses, the early days were humble. There were no guarantees of success, just determination, commitment, and a willingness to do whatever it took to look after customers.

What Terry and Vic built all those years ago laid the foundation for everything we enjoy today.

Message from Jurgen Fengels had to say....

Let me introduce myself – as I’m sure most of you haven’t heard of me!!

This is what a silent partner is all about! My name is Jurgen Fengels and I’ve been involved with Terry & Vics and Accredited Distributors for over 40 Years, firstly as a customer of Terry Booth – and around 30 years ago I had the opportunity, together with Mr Andrew Turnbull, to acquire the business.

As many of you would know….Andrew turnbull sold out of the business some years later. Back then, Accredited Distributors was a medium sized wholesaler – but now, under the leadership of my partners, Craig and Stuart, together with their amazingly talented team they have surrounded themselves with – it has developed into the company you all know today. Regretably….. I am not able to be with you all to celebrate this momentus occasion –as a long standing arrangement in Europe has made it impossible for me to attend this milestone of our company. But it goes without saying that I would like to congratulate Craig and Stuart and the entire Accredited Team for their wonderful achievement… and from my heart… I wish you all a great evening… so enjoy the party!

Congratulations –another great win!

BP Buying Group’s Australian Supplier of the Year

I’m incredibly proud to let you all know that The Distributors has been named BP Buying Group’s Australian Supplier of the Year (Distributor)!

This recognition is a testament to the hard work, commitment and passion shown by every one of our members. It reflects the outstanding service, collaboration and dedication that goes into supporting the BP Buying Group network every day.

Thank you to everyone who has contributed to this achievement.

Congratulations all!

Well done to JB Metro Adelaide

What is your role at The Distributors?

I’m a National Account Manager, working with key customers to strengthen our partnerships, identify growth opportunities and create good outcomes for both sides.

A brief history on yourself – career, family, sports and hobbies: I’ve spent more than 20 years across sales and marketing roles in FMCG and consumer technology, including Coca-Cola, Schwarzkopf and Samsung. I live in Sydney with my partner Monica and our two young boys. Outside work, I enjoy playing soccer with the boys, spending time with the family and occasionally firing up the PS5. I’m also a rookie astronomer, although there’s still plenty of staring into space and wondering what I’m looking at.

What do you best like about your work?

The mix of people, problem solving and variety. Every customer is different, so I enjoy understanding how their business works and finding practical ways to help.

What is your favourite drink?

At the moment, I’m partial to a Canadian Club Lemon.

Favourite food?

Pad Phak Krachet (ผัดผักกระเฉด), a Thai stir-fry made with crunchy water mimosa, garlic and chilli. It’s difficult to find outside Thailand because of the growing conditions, so I make the most of it whenever I’m there.

Favourite restaurant?

It evolves with the stage of life. Right now, a good local with a play area or arcade is hard to beat. Chipping Norton Hotel serves a mean schnitty, keeps the kids entertained and gives Mum and Dad a chance to enjoy a cold treat in peace.

How do you best get away from it all and relax?

A casual game of pickup basketball is my best reset. Otherwise, a quick game of Call of Duty, although calling it relaxing may be a stretch.

What is your proudest accomplishment to date?

My two boys, aged seven and four. They’re funny, curious and completely different from each other. They drive me bonkers at times, but the good far outweighs the chaos.

As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?

My dream was to play in the NBA. I occasionally took part in training scrimmages with the Sydney Kings, and in one session I even gave Shane Heal a brief run for his money before he caught fire and reminded me why he was the professional. Unfortunately, being tall and having one good scrimmage wasn’t quite enough to attract the NBA scouts.

Who would you most like to be sitting next to on a long-haul flight and why? If I could wave a magic wand, Kobe Bryant. The intensity and focus he brought throughout his career were on another level. When he ruptured his Achilles, he still walked to the free-throw line, made both shots and then walked off the court under his own power. Having ruptured mine, I know how impossible that feels. I couldn’t even stand. Kobe seemed almost superhuman, and I’d love to understand how he

summoned that level of strength. Plus, he definitely wouldn’t be flying economy, so the extra leg room would be a bonus. If you could be someone else for a day who would it be?

Shaquille O’Neal. He conquered the NBA, built a business empire and now seems to spend his time collecting the most entertaining side quests imaginable. One minute I could be courtside analysing a game, the next DJing in front of thousands, filming a commercial or launching another business. It would be one completely unpredictable day, lived at Shaq scale.

A brief history on yourself –career, family, sports and hobbies:

I founded Tradie when I was 26 in 2010 and it’s a been a great ride every since. I married a Texan and we have three girls Millie (7), Gigi (5) and Piper (4). I’m a Bombers fan so there’s not much more to say!

What do you best like about your work?

Tradie’s my baby so I love going to work. Always something new on the go whether its new products or new advertising ideas. Love it.

What is your favourite drink?

Filthy vodka martini

Why is Tradie making drinks?

Two Aussie battlers (60+) who own Aussie O Bottling turned up at Tradie HQ without a meeting and said they’d stay all day to have 5 minutes with me. I took the meeting and realised they were going broke unless we could sell Tradie drinks produced by them.

The most lovable old blokes need help and our goal is to get to 70 pallets a month to save the factory. Their 80 year old mother still works in the factory so we’ve got to keep it going as long as she’s alive.

Favourite food?

Japanese

Favourite restaurant?

Scopri

How do you best get away from it all and relax?

Hit the desert – Palm Springs is my happy place with the family.

What is your proudest accomplishment to date?

Building an iconic Australian brand with a genuine Aussie larrikin persona.

As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?

All I wanted to do was start a brand at high school. Wasn’t too sure what it would be but I knew I wanted to market a brand.

Who would you most like to be sitting next to on a long haul flight and why? Anthony Bordain because we’d drink the plane dry.

If you could be someone else for a day, who would it be?

Jacinta Allan so I could fix this cooked state and fire myself.

Most embarrassing moment?

My recent trip to China……

Federal Budget 2026/27 from William Lombard

The Government handed down the 2026–27 Federal Budget on 12 May 2026, which included a broad range of significant proposed tax reform measures.

Some of the key announcements that are relevant for individuals include:

• A proposed $1,000 instant deduction for work-related expenses from the 2026–27 income year

• The introduction of the Working Australians Tax Offset, providing a permanent annual $250 tax offset to eligible Australian workers

• Proposed changes to negative gearing, limiting deductions for residential property investments to new builds from 1 July 2027

• The replacement of the 50% CGT discount with inflation adjusted indexation from 1 July 2027, together with the introduction of a proposed minimum 30% tax rate on capital gains

Since the Budget was handed down, legislation relating to some of the key tax measures has now been introduced into Parliament on 28 May 2026 but they are not yet law and the final form of the rules might end up changing.

$1,000 instant deduction for work-related expenses

As noted above, the Government is planning to introduce an optional standard deduction for work-related expenses from the 2026–27 income year onwards.

Under the proposed rules, you may choose to claim a fixed deduction of $1,000 for certain work-related expenses without needing to keep receipts or other substantiation records for those expenses. The measure is intended to simplify the tax return process and reduce compliance costs for taxpayers with relatively low levels of deductible work-related expenses.

Importantly, the proposed deduction is optional. If your actual deductible work-related expenses exceed $1,000, you would still be able to claim your actual expenses under the existing deduction and substantiation rules.

Where you choose to use the standard deduction:

• You would not need to substantiate the first $1,000 of eligible workrelated expenses;

• You would generally be prevented from separately claiming deductions for expenses covered by the standard deduction; and

• Certain deductions outside the standard deduction may still remain claimable where specifically allowed under the legislation.

The standard deduction is primarily targeted at employees and other individuals earning labour income. Individuals who only derive other types of business or investment income are not expected to benefit from the measure.

The proposed deduction does not provide an immediate cash payment. Any tax benefit would still only arise when you lodge your income tax return and the return is assessed by the ATO.

This measure is not yet law and further amendments might still occur as the Bill progresses through Parliament.

Concessional superannuation contribution

The concessional contributions cap is the maximum amount of before-tax contributions you can contribute to your super each year without contributions being subject to extra tax.

From 1 July 2026, the concessional contributions cap is $32,500.

Medicare levy low-income threshold

The Medicare levy low-income thresholds for singles, families, seniors and pensioners will be retrospectively increased from 1 July 2025. This means that you will be able to earn more before having to pay the 2% Medicare Levy.

Federal Budget 2026/27 cont. from William Lombard

Rental properties

The ATO has recently finalised new guidance for residential rental properties. The new guidance reflects a much stricter approach to rental property claims, particularly for holiday homes and properties with some private use.

The ATO’s focus is now on ensuring that tax deductions are only available where a property is genuinely being used to earn rental income, rather than mainly being held for private enjoyment or recreation.

Under the new approach, the ATO will closely examine holiday homes and mixed-use properties to determine whether they are primarily being used to produce assessable income across the relevant year. If the ATO considers that a property is mainly being used or held by the owner, family members, or friends for private purposes, deductions such as interest on loans, council rates, land tax, insurance, and depreciation may be denied completely, even if the property is genuinely used to generate some income during the year. To support deduction claims, property owners need

to demonstrate that the property was genuinely available for rent and primarily held for income-producing purposes.

The ATO may review factors such as:

• Whether the property was blocked out during peak holiday periods or school holidays;

• Whether rental prices were set artificially high to discourage bookings;

• Whether unreasonable booking conditions were imposed; and

• The actual level of rental occupancy achieved during the year.

Where a property is held mainly to produce income but there is some private use, expenses must be apportioned on a fair and reasonable basis. This generally means claims need to be reduced based on the period or area used privately, with appropriate records maintained to support the calculation.

The ATO has also clarified that all rental income must be declared, including income earned through short-stay platforms such as Airbnb or informal

arrangements with family and friends. However, where a property is rented to related parties at below-market rates, deductions relating to that period are generally limited to the amount of rental income received. This means losses cannot usually be generated from non-commercial rental arrangements.

For business

Payday super starts on 1 July 2026

From 1 July 2026, employers need to pay superannuation guarantee (SG) contributions at the same time as wages, rather than weeks or months later. Employers will have 7 business days from payday to ensure contributions hit employees’ super funds.

If payments are late, the Superannuation Guarantee Charge (SGC) will apply - that means paying the missed super plus an interest and administration penalty.

Once SGC has been assessed, additional interest and penalties may apply if the SGC liability isn’t paid in full.

Unlike the existing system, SGC amounts will normally be deductible to employers, although penalties for late payment of SGC won’t be deductible.

On top of this, the ATO will retire the Small Business Superannuation Clearing House

(SBSCH) platform from 1 July 2026 for all users and alternative options should be sought.

The ATO will take a “risk-based” approach for the first year, focusing on education and helping businesses transition smoothly. If you pay on time, you’ll likely be flagged as low risk, meaning fewer compliance checks.

Instant write-off for depreciating assets

The instant asset write-off threshold is $20,000 for the 2025-26 year.

Businesses that have aggregated annual turnover of less than $10 million that use the simplified depreciation rules may be able to use the instant asset write-off rules to immediately deduct the business portion of the cost of eligible assets.

Key things to remember include:

• The full cost of the asset must be less than $20,000 after taking off GST credits that can be claimed.

• To claim the deduction in the 2026 tax return the asset normally needs to be first used or installed ready for use for a taxable purpose between 1 July 2025 and 30 June 2026.

• New and second-hand assets can qualify, subject to some specific exclusions and limits.

Federal Budget 2026/27 cont. from William Lombard

• If you claimed an immediate deduction for an asset’s cost under the instant asset write-off rules in an earlier income year, you can also immediately deduct the first improvement cost for that asset if it is incurred between 1 July 2025 and 30 June 2026 and is less than $20,000.

• The $20,000 limit applies on a perasset basis, so you can instantly write off multiple assets as long as the cost of each asset is less than the limit.

Only the business portion of the expenditure can be claimed and you must retain records to substantiate any deductions that are claimed.

The Government has announced that it is planning to permanently increase the instant asset write-off threshold to $20,000 from the 2027 income year onwards, but legislation for this has not yet been released.
