TCI Hospital welcomed the Christmas season with joyful festivities, honoring the hard work and dedication of its staff while spreading holiday cheer. The highlight of the celebrations was the tree lighting ceremony, a cherished tradition that brought together staff and their families in a warm, festive atmosphere. As the tree illuminated, it symbolized the joy and unity of our hospital family.
The occasion also focused on bringing happiness to the younger members of our extended family. Gifts were given to the children of staff members, showcasing our family-centric values.

Diagnostic Imaging Department Celebrates Radiologic Technologist Week
Radiologic Technologist Week (RTW) was celebrated from November 2-8, 2025
The annual event honours the essential work of diagnostic imaging professionals in patient care.
This year’s theme "The Kaleidoscope of Radiologic Technology," reflected the shifting patterns of a kaleidoscope. Their work reflects adaptability, clarity, and beauty in motion, helping us see what lies beneath the surface, both literally and figuratively.
To mark the occasion, the Diagnostic Imaging Department hosted a special ceremony recognizing team members for their commitment and impact. The celebration included reflections from staff on their professional journeys and heartfelt words from patients whose care has been shaped by the work of our radiologic technologists. During the ceremony, the CEO shared appreciation for the department, stating: “The work that the hospital does is not possible without the dedication and naturally excellent skill of our Diagnostic Imaging Department.”

The kindergarten class from Oseta Jolly Primary School took an exciting trip to our hospital, where they visited the Diagnostic Imaging Department. The young students were fascinated as they learned about the different bones in the body and how X-ray machines work. It was an experience filled with curiosity and discovery!

On November 13, 2025 Interhealth Canada - Turks & Caicos Islands Hospital proudly announced the deployment of 10 new Cybernet 22” G Series Computer-on-Wheels units across each of our centres These advanced mobile workstations complement our existing suite of desktop and mobile computers, further strengthening our commitment to delivering safe, efficient, and patient-centred care.
The Cybernet 22” G Series medical panel PCs represent Cutting-Edge Technology for Healthcare. They are designed to handle a full suite of responsibilities, from our Electronic Health Record (EHR) management to clinical documentation. The mobile computers are equipped with the latest Intel Core i5 processors, Windows 11, and an impressive 256 GB of RAM. These systems can seamlessly run the latest medical software programs while connecting to both modern and legacy I/O ports.
The fanless design facilitates a cleaner and safer environment by eliminating dust circulation, reducing infection control risks and reduced maintenance costs due to fewer moving parts, leading to greater reliability and longer lifespan. Interhealth Canada - TCI Hospital joined the World Health Organization (WHO) to shine a light on the growing threat of Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR).
November 18-24 was observed as Antimicrobial Awareness Week, a vital campaign focused on educating the public about the dangers of overusing antibiotics and the urgent need to preserve their effectivenessfor future generations.
Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) is a major global health threat where germs (bacteria, viruses, fungi, parasites) evolve to resist medicines like antibiotics, making infections harder to treat, increasing illness, and causing more deaths, with "superbugs" being highly resistant strains. It is accelerated by misuse of antimicrobials, poor hygiene, and global travel, threatening modern medicine like surgery, and requires global action in healthcare, agriculture, and public health to slow its spread and develop new treatments.
By understanding the critical role that proper antibiotic use plays in our health, we can help combat the spread of resistant bacteria, ensuring that antibiotics remain a powerful tool in fighting infectionsfor generations to come.

On November 20, 2025, the department of Special Educational Needs Services (SENS) hosted its annual Special Needs Education Conference & Resource Expo at the Gustarvus Lightbourne Sports Complex, under the the theme "Partners in Progress: Strengthening Special Education Together."
The event was a confluence of educators, parents, clinicians, community partners, and government officials, all united by the shared goal of enhancing support for special needs learners across TCI.
TCI Hospital supported the event by showcasing vital resources and expertise, ensuring that attendees had access to information and services that would help shape a brighter future for children with special needs. Our booth at the expo was a hub of activity, offering insights into healthcare services tailored for Special Needs children and fostering discussions on how medical support can complement educational efforts.

In October, TCI Hospital observed Breast Cancer Awareness Month by wearing pink every Friday in solidarity and support for those affected by breast cancer.
As part of the month long campaign, the hospital aired a special episode of "House Call," our renowned radio show focused on healthcare topics. The October instalment hosted by Dr. Merle Clarke, Internist and Nephrologist at Chesire Hall Medical Centre, aired in video on Zoom and Facebook Live as well as live on RTC. It focused on early detection and lifestyle and featured, Dr. Denise Braithwaite, CEO; Dr. Phillip Burgess, General Surgeon; and Nurse Denise White, Oncology nurse.
Dr Burges shared crucial information on early detection and treatment options, while Dr. Braithwaite shared her personal story of Breast Cancer survival. Nurse White added crucial information about the treatment and support options that are available.
Turks and Caicos Islands Hospital also proudly supported the National Cancer Society of TCI’s Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Walk-A-Thon in Providenciales on October 4th, 2025.
INTERNATIONAL MEN’S DAY 2025
November 19th was celebrated globally as International Men’s Day.
The Board of InterHealth Canada and TCI Hospital Senior Management expressed their sincere gratitude to all the men serving within our hospital and the broader Turks and Caicos Islands community. The 2025 global theme, “Celebrating Men and Boys,” highlighted the essential roles men fulfill as positive role models, caregivers, and leaders
