Taylor and Zack's Boston Trip

Taylor & Zack's Boston Trip!

Way back in August of 2025, my boyfriend Zack and I really wanted to get away somewhere before our senior year of college began. We decided to go on a short road trip to Boston, as we've both never visited before! After some research on the fun activities, and searching for what was worth the money, we planned a whole itinerary; our plan ended up being very successful! Let's get into what we did on the two days we spent roaming the Boston streets!

Day 1

We began our travels with a pit-stop to the Franklin Park Zoo in Roxbury to see the cute animals, specifically the giraffes! To make our visit cooler, the Boston Lights were on display! Though not lit, we got to snap some pictures with pretty lanterns.

Eventually made it to the city itself, at our temporary home: the Sheraton Boston Hotel. With some magical luck, our room was upgraded to a suite! Sweet, right?

To top it off, the view was breathtaking! We were on floor 25 out of 29, so it's safe to say we had a great view!

Next, we made way to Newbury Street, a very popular, bustling mile-long shopping bay with unique shops, restaurants, bakeries, and even more! Our favorite stop was the Memory Shop, which was a little store with many photo booths! We got a cute picture taken, of course!

We then headed down the block to the Boston Public Library which felt like a museum! It was one of the most gorgeous buildings I’ve ever laid my eyes on. Between the lovely courtyard and the gigantic study hall, it was definitely a place worth seeing! And the best part? Entry was free!

After that, Zack and I headed to the Boston Public Garden to take a stroll around.

During our walk, we crossed over a bridge above the lake and got our photo taken; it was printed out in our own newspaper! This was a very fun memento to remember our journey and sore feet.

After much walking, we headed back to the hotel and concluded our first day with a late-night swim in the pool. Although I suffered a horrific foot cramp, the pool was very lovely! We then went to sleep in our huge room, with the night-time Boston lights shining through our hotel room window.

Whilst strolling around the zoo on Day 1, a kind lady offered to take a photo of Zack and I under this gorgeous lantern tunnel!

Day 2

Our second day began by driving out to Boston’s Waterfront, where some activities for the day would take place! We ate the best bacon, egg, and cheese bagels EVER from Koko Coffee, a quaint little cafe.

Next, we hopped on a trolley for the popular Duck Tours! With “Choo Choo Charlie” as our guide, we rode around Boston’s roads, and water, learning about the history behind the city. This was Zack’s favorite activity of the whole trip! I still can't believe the trolley transformed into a boat.

After our ride around town, we visited the New England Aquarium, which quite frankly wasn’t worth the money. It was cramped and way too busy, but the large tube in the middle with many different fish and sharks was neat! Plus, they have a 100-year-old turtle named Myrtle there!

We ate dinner at the Cheesecake Factory, then grabbed ice cream from J.P. Licks. Can't lie, the employee gave us serious attitude! We also went to see the Reflecting Pool at the Christian Science Plaza. This church was so beautiful, and we sat by the water and admired the scenery.

We went back to the zoo for the Boston Lights, and ran into trouble. There was some huge party happening nearby, and we had to walk almost twenty minutes to just get to the zoo from our car! The best part was probably the fact that no one was even in the zoo, so we had some very nice photo opportunities.

But we almost died. We walked past a car while leaving and the man inside it was shouting; he threw his phone out of the window onto the road. We took off running when we heard his car rev, while we were in front of it. This man almost ran us over and drove over his phone! Scary. We lived. Duh.

On our third day out, we headed back home to our lovely town of Hamden, Connecticut. Though Boston was eventful, nothing can top our humble abode back home. I’d definitely visit Boston again, maybe exploring some different parts that I have still yet to see! The number of things to do in Boston feels endless! There will still many activities left that we didn't have time for, so I'm looking forward to our next road trip!
