905 PESCOD AVENUE Exhibition Plan Creative Direction for Fashion Media Conde Nast College 2022
For my Fashion Documentation Now project, I proposed that I not only create a zine and intervideo, but an exhibition as well. This exhibition will be taking place at the original 905 Pescod Avenue in Cornwall, Canada. Throughout this document you will see all of the deetails that go into creating this special event for not only myself, but for my family. This exhibition is to showcase 70's fashion from then and now, as well as the special items that belong to my family in our house. I wanted to be able to share my special place that sparked my fascination with the 70s to other people, and hopefully inspire someone to find what they're passionate about as well.
WHere?: 905 Pescod Avenue Basement
During this event, I will be passing out free copies of my zine, 905 Pescod Avenue, to all guests. The zine will also be laid out on our coffee table in the middle of the sitting area. On the tv, we will be playing my interview that I created. Along with the video playing, we will have various 70's records, from my parent's personal collection, playing on my dad's old record player. Some of the artists will include, but are not limited to: Queen, David Bowie, Fleetwood Mac, The BeeGees, Abba, Donna Summers, Supertramp, The Eagles, Earth, Wind, & Fire, etc. Here are a few photos of my zine that I will be distributing,
On the TV, my interview video will be playing on repeat for people to sit down and watch, if they please. I want it to be more so in the background so that people can enjoy the exhibition and take it all in, while listening to the personal anecdotes of those who lived through the 70s. I also would really like to have some clips from 'That 70's Show' play every now and then as well for a change of pace as well as a new conversation starter.
In our basement, we have a built in bar, which is VERY 70's. We want to be able to host and entertain our guests that come to 905 Pescod Avenue. So, we will be serving cocktails and other non-alcoholic beverages. We will also be serving some snacks as well. Lays Potato Chips (US brand of Walkers) has a 'retro' collection of chip bags that I want to display as well as serve.
I also wanted to display various photos of my family from thee 70s around our basement. Here are the ones I have chosen to hang up. I also wanted to display the clothes that I have today, that are similar to the ones my parents wore in these certain photos.
