INTRODUCTION

The 2026 Tattersalls February Sale will feature a Stallion Parade sponsored by the British EBF showcasing an exciting lineup of young British-based sires, available for viewing in the Left and Right Yards after the parade. Following a successful debut last year, there will once again be an RoR Showcase with eight retrained racehorses on display in the Sale Ring to begin proceedings.

EXHIBITORS

Key industry organisations including Racing Welfare, TB-Ed, The National Stud and RoR will have exhibition displays in the Lower Sale Ring Bar, where hospitality will be provided until 1:00 p.m.

The Retraining of Racehorses (RoR) Parade at Tattersalls celebrates the versatility and adaptability of retired racehorses as they transition into successful second careers.

This highly anticipated event highlights the crucial work of RoR, British horseracing’s official charity dedicated to the welfare and retraining of retired racehorses.

The 2026 parade proudly features eight distinguished former racehorses who have excelled in a variety of disciplines, showcasing their talent, resilience, and the opportunities available beyond their racing careers.

AHZEEMAH:

17-year-old gelding by Dubawi, formerly trained by Saeed bin Suroor. Ahzeemah is a half-brother to Tiger Roll. Ahzeemah has been with Annette since April 2016. Having initially done a variety of disciplines, in 2025 they focused on showing, with some wonderful results. They have qualified for the 2026 Tattersalls RoR Amateur Final at Hickstead and the RoR National Championships at Aintree.

BABOCHOFF:

14-year-old gelding by Babodana, formerly trained by Mark H Tompkins. Babochoff started off his second career Showjumping, Eventing and Team chasing but has excelled at RoR showing. He has an extensive CV having been in the Tattersalls RoR Final at Hickstead three times and placed every time. He has also qualified for the London International Horse Show for the last three years.

BARRACUDA BOY:

A 16-year-old gelding by Bahamian Bounty, formerly trained by Tom Dascombe and also Marjorie Fife. Barracuda Boy owned by Debbie HodgePhillips, had a very successful career as a sprinter, claimed a track record at Haydock Park over 5 furlongs. Barracuda Boy had an impressive 2025 Show season winning at Royal Windsor Tattersalls RoR Open In hand and was Reserve In hand Champion. 2026 looks to be just as busy with qualifiers already won for Tattersalls RoR Finals at Hickstead and Aintree.

BRISTOL DE MAI:

15-year-old by Saddler Maker, formerly trained by Nigel Twiston-Davies Bristol de Mai retired in February 2023 following a stellar racing career and is having lots of fun in retirement with Clare. Bristol particularly loves going trailhunting where he stands like a rock and enjoys watching hounds working. He also likes watching the horses on the gallops at home and leading the young horses in their early work.

CAPRICORN PRINCE:

A 10-year-old gelding by Garswood, formerly trained by Gary & Josh Moore. Capricorn Prince retired from racing after 37 runs and 8 wins in July 2024. Since joining The British Racing School, he has proved himself to be a firm favourite and one of the most versatile horses we have. Notably, he helped pony horses at Royal Ascot and Glorious Goodwood, he also loves teaching beginners the ropes and doing mini jumping.

FESTIVE FARE:

14-year-old gelding by Teofilo, formerly trained by Charlie Appleby. Festive Fare initially had much success with owner, Diana Taylor. In March 2024 he joined Rebecca, his showing CV continued to grow and he was crowned winner of the Flat section and Champion Tattersalls RoR Open Final at Hickstead 2025.

MISCHIEF MAGIC:

6-year-old gelding by Exceed And Excel, formerly trained by Charlie Appleby Mischief Magic, a six-time winner for Godolphin, posted victories in the UK, the USA and the UAE. His Gr.3 win at two earned him a trip to the Breeders’ Cup where he won the Gr.1 Juvenile Turf Sprint. He retired from racing with earnings of well over £600,000. Mischief Magic moved to Godolphin & rehoming yard last year and has taken part in several ridden demonstrations for visitors. He is already a firm favourite with the team!

SKYSURFERS:

A 19-year-old gelding by E Dubai, bred by Darley and trained by Saeed bin Suroor. A former Godolphin Mile winner, he now competes in dressage with Rachel Ovens, with plans for show jumping and eventing.
