Learning music offers children far more than just the ability to play an instrument—it strengthens the brain, boosts confidence, and nurtures essential life skills. Regular music lessons have been shown to improve memory, focus, and language development, while also enhancing mathematical thinking and problem-solving skills. For many students, learning to read and play music becomes a powerful tool for improving performance across all academic areas.
Beyond the cognitive benefits, music is also a deeply social and emotional experience. Playing in an ensemble teaches children how to listen, collaborate, and support others—skills that are transferable to all aspects of life. It encourages perseverance, self-expression, and discipline, all while providing an outlet for creativity and joy. For many students, music becomes not just a subject, but a lifelong passion and a source of connection, achievement, and belonging.
Music at Trinity Anglican School is more than just a subject; it is a journey of creativity, discipline and self-expression. From the first notes in instrumental lessons to the energy of ensemble performances, our program nurtures every student’s musical potential whilst developing skills that extend far beyond the stage.
At TAS, we believe music plays a vital role in shaping confident, curious and well-rounded learners. Through guided practice, performance and reflection, students learn the value of perseverance, teamwork and creativity. Research consistently shows that studying music enhances cognitive abilities such as memory, focus and problemsolving, while also supporting emotional wellbeing and social connection.
Our Music Program provides opportunities for all students, from beginners discovering their passion to advanced musicians refining their craft. Whether through classroom music, instrumental tuition, choirs, or bands and ensembles, students are encouraged to challenge themselves, take creative risks and celebrate their progress.
Performing at school events, community functions and regional competitions allows our students to share their love of music with others and experience the joy of collective achievement. In doing so, they not only develop their musicianship but also build confidence, pride and a lifelong appreciation for the arts.

At the heart of the TAS Music Program are our Instrumental Music Lessons, designed to unlock each student’s musical potential. Offered as individual or shared sessions, these lessons provide personalised instruction across a wide range of instruments, including strings, woodwind, brass, percussion, piano, and voice.
Our experienced and passionate tutors guide students to master technique, build musical understanding, and develop performance confidence. Regular lessons not only improve musical ability but also teach discipline, perseverance, and time management, skills that benefit all areas of learning. Whether a student is a complete beginner or an aspiring performer, our Instrumental Music Program helps them grow in both skill and selfbelief.

The shared sense of achievement that comes from creating something meaningful together fosters pride and belonging, making the TAS Music community a source of inspiration for all.
Students regularly take part in workshops, competitions, interschool collaborations and community performances, enriching their musical journey and connecting them with the wider arts community.
