PROGRAM NOTES
Goodnight Noises Everywhere was inspired by and takes its title from the final lines of of Margaret Wise Brown’s classic children’s book Goodnight Moon:
Goodnight stars
Goodnight air
Goodnight noises everywhere
After having read that line many times to my children, I began to wonder if noises that are going to bed might like a song. This collection of taps, plunks, swirls, zings, tings, and booms is my attempt to write a lullaby for noises.
