Good afternoon,

This is a reminder that we have officially entered the colder time of the year. All vacuum units will now require winterization- whether they are stored inside or outside. Antifreeze can be located in the drivers oil room in the new building. Provided below is a general step by step procedure for winterization of a vacuum unit. (Found HERE)

We will utilize the old shop as a parking structure to keep our most essential units indoors. The air lines in the old shop will be functional again shortly so operators will be able to air tiresetc. Units that will be stored indoors will include WB 494, 495, 497, and the pea shooter. These will be parked on the north wall of the (old) main shop area. Additionally, the milk truck, a combo unit, 536, 867, 831, and 845 will all be subject to indoor storage depending on how much room there is at any given time. We will be developing a map that will illustrate the desired lay out in the coming days as well as hosting a winterization procedure meeting like we did last year. If you have any questions as of now, please reach out to your supervisor or Brian Williams.

Thank you, Mitchell & Hunter

October Safety Awards

Billy McMahan - Skillful recovery: Billy noticed something on the machine that ultimately was the conerstone of a safe recovery when we rolled it back over. His willingness to voice his thoughts was extremely helpful.

Bryan Zaudtke - Skillful recovery: Bryan exhibited skillful operation of two excavators when we gently rolled the machine back over. No additional damage to the machine due to his efforts.

Aaron Karjala - Quick response and high level of professionalism: Aaron was alert and vigilant in noticing the fire, communications amongst the group to hit the E-Stop on the machine and gather the fire extinguishers on hand as well as effectively fighting the fire without anyone being injured were impressive.

Dan O’Hara - Quick response and high level of professionalism: professional response to the fire we had at the pugmill.

Travis Franklin - Quick response and high level of professionalism: professional response to the fire we had at the pugmill.

Glenn Deuster - Quick response and high level of professionalism: professional response to the fire we had at the pugmill.

Great job to Tyler Mayes and Harvey Hernandez for their work on creating the first of hopefully many Taplin training videos!
