“We recovered this creepy one legged doll from the sewer today. We’re calling her “Annabelle” in the spirit of Halloween.” Photos shared by Steve A.
Huntington, WV A leaf-covered path going down to manhole 57. The “Long & Winding Road” (Beetles reference) leading further west through the sewer easement. Vactor working out in the easement. Large debris pile of material manually removed from sewer. This project began in 2020 and to-date we have pulled approximately 2,200 tons out of 20,000 feet of sewer. Shared by Steve A Taplin.

Taplin gets MWEA Acknowledgement I hope we are all enjoying this “beautiful” Fall weather! I wanted to share a plug Taplin received this week at the Michigan Water Environment Association (MWEA) Conference. Ryan Stoughton, Assistant City Engineer with the City of Kalamazoo was one of the speakers during the conference covering Driving Actionable Benefits Through Breaking Down Silos & Being Open to Discovering the Unknown. He was also part of a four-person panel discussion at the very end of the conference where the speakers shared “Lessons Learned in the Industry” topics.

Ryan talked about the importance of vendor relationships turning into partnerships. Well, during his speech he unexpectedly pointed to our Exhibitor table and said “Well, for instance, Taplin helped us with a project that came up suddenly and needed a quick response. They were able to move some things around in their schedule that enabled them to accommodate us in a pinch and it was a lifesaver! You can’t get this kind of help without a great partnership!” So I wanted to let the Taplin Team know, the sacrifices and hard work you put forward makes a big difference! 2023 Insurance Open Enrollment is here! The Open Enrollment Period is the time of year when you can review current benefit elections for you and your family members to determine if any changes are needed. Once the Open Enrollment Period is closed, your next opportunity to enroll in benefits will be if you experience a Qualifying Life Event during the plan year or the next open enrollment. • Please review the benefits summaries link sent out via email last week. o You’ll notice increased medical deductibles for this plan year which was done in order to minimize an increase in premiums, however all other plan designs remained the same. o Make sure to check out the InsurChoice flyer. Through the NFP Marketplace you can obtain quotes for personal insurance including things like auto, home, renters and even pet insurance.
