When The Taos News does its annual
Best of Taos (this is our 16th such publication),
we don’t leave it up to one person, or our
staff to make such decisions. The process is
entirely in the hands of the community.
The online poll allows for a wide section of Taos
residents, visitors and ex-pats to weigh in on their favorites in a number of categories, making sure everyone has an opportunity to make their voice heard.
Our goal is to create a “Best Of” list that represents the consensus opinion of our community. We also like to have a little fun with the survey responders while we have their attention. Our four “essay” questions give
readers the chance to express grievances, celebrate and flaunt the quirkiness of Taos County. The answers are often humorous, insightful and revealing and The Taos News editor, Joan Livingston, gets a kick out of compiling the answers for readers in this publication.
