THE LION'S DEN Tanglin Lions Netball Championships 2026 The Tanglin Lions Netball Championships were held at Tanglin on Friday 23rd January and Saturday 24th January, welcoming 25 teams and approximately 300 participants. This year’s tournament featured school and club teams from both Singapore and Hong Kong, and the standard of netball throughout the competition was exceptionally high. Tanglin entered one U19 team and one U16 team. The U16 squad was made up of students from Years 11 and 10, alongside two Year 8 players, who rose impressively to the challenge of competing at this level. Friday saw the opening round of closely contested matches, with Round 1 continuing into Saturday. Across both days, both Tanglin teams worked effectively within their court units, demonstrating strong cohesion in both attack and defence. This resulted in numerous wins and consistent performances throughout the tournament. Both teams progressed confidently into the Cup rounds and advanced through to the semi-finals. The U19 team faced Dulwich College, while the U16 team took on SGNA Club. Both semi-finals were fiercely contested and showcased grit, determination, and resilience from all players. The U19 match went into extra time (two minutes each way) in a tense, nail-biting finish, with Tanglin narrowly losing by a single goal. Unfortunately, both teams were beaten at this stage despite outstanding efforts.
