Vol.84

THE LION'S DEN SEASAC Football Boys and Girls This weekend our U19A Boys and Girls represented Tanglin Trust School at the annual SEASAC Football Championships, hosted by Harrow International School, Bangkok. It was an absolute pleasure to spend the weekend with our student-athletes on tour. With Thailand still in a state of mourning following the passing of the Queen Mother, our students conducted themselves with the utmost respect and professionalism, representing both Tanglin and Singapore with aplomb. As much as I love free-flowing attacking football, our boys were magnificent in the less glamorous side of the game – showing superb organisation, grit, and resilience. They navigated the group stage unbeaten and top of their pool, showing real maturity in and out of possession. Despite creating plenty of chances, we were edged out in the final by UWC Dover, with tired legs from an intense three-day competition proving decisive. Nevertheless, this was a silver medal truly won, not a gold lost, and a clear reflection of the team’s progress and togetherness.
