Tanglin Lions Crowned U15 FOBISIA Netball Champions

Tanglin Lions U15 netball squad travelled to Kuala Lumpur this weekend to compete in the prestigious FOBISIA U15 Netball Tournament, and what a weekend it proved to be.

With 15 teams entered, the standard of competition was high. The Lions had prepared diligently in the lead-up to the tournament, and it was clear from the outset that their hard work had paid off.

On Day 1, Tanglin faced seven different opponents, demonstrating outstanding discipline and cohesion on court. Their defensive set plays were executed superbly, resulting in numerous turnovers, which were confidently converted into goals.

By the end of the first day, Tanglin had won all of their matches and established themselves as one of the strongest teams in the competition

Day 2 saw the start of the knockout rounds. Tanglin’s first match was against Tenby School. Despite a slightly nervous opening, the team quickly settled and secured a convincing win. The semi-final, against a strong Alice Smith side from Pool A, was a true test of composure and teamwork. Defensive unity was crucial, and once again, Tanglin’s structured set plays proved decisive, earning them a well-deserved place in the final.

The championship match against Dulwich required both mental strength and tactical discipline. After a shaky start, the Lions found their rhythm. Working seamlessly as a unit, they forced multiple turnovers and transitioned the ball with precision. Their calm finishing under pressure allowed them to pull away decisively, securing an 18–7 victory.

Tanglin Lions are now officially U15 FOBISIA Netball Champions an outstanding achievement.

Well done girls!
