THE LION'S DEN SNSC Swimming Nationals The Tanglin Merlions were proudly represented by 28 swimmers at the Singapore National Swimming Championships (SNSC), held from 27–30 May during the half-term break. Competing at an open-age, national-level event, our swimmers raced against some of the top athletes from Singapore and across Southeast Asia, many of whom are preparing for major summer competitions such as the Asian Games. The Merlions celebrated strong performances across the board, highlighted by two podium finishes from Nathalie R. She claimed Silver in the Women’s 50m Butterfly (27.06) and Bronze in the 50m Freestyle (25.54), delivering outstanding swims that saw her achieve personal best times by half a second and break her own school records once again. In addition to her success at SNSC, Nathalie has recently been selected for Swimming Australia’s ‘Next Wave’ camp and the New South Wales ‘Futures Squad’. She will attend a high-performance training camp in July alongside Australia’s top junior swimmers. Congratulations to Nathalie on these fantastic achievements.
