April 1, 1947, marked the beginning of 75 years of higher education on Ward Island. Over the years, our name changed from the University of Corpus Christi (UCC) to Texas A&I at Corpus Christi to Corpus Christi State University and, finally, in 1994, Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. That’s a lot of names and that’s a lot of change, but over the course of it all, our core mission has remained the same. Providing an unparalleled commitment to every student’s success is, has been, and always will be the Island University’s driving force.
