As we welcome 2024, there are many exciting things to look forward to—preeminent among them are our new amenities that truly solidify Tamarack as America’s only ski, golf, and lake resort. Here are a few highlights: • Opening of the new Marina at Tamarack—the first and only full-service Marina on Lake Cascade that will elevate the lake-living experience for Members and guests. • Grand Opening of Osprey Meadows Golf Course designed by Robert Trent Jones II—front nine has opened for play, the full 18-hole championship golf course + spectacular 19th Gambler’s Hole will open in Summer 2024. • Inaugural year of the Club at Tamarack, which includes the Members’ Lounge, Members’ Fitness Center, and on-mountain snack shack. • Highly Anticipated opening of the Mid-Mountain Lodge in December 2024, a mid-mountain gathering spot right where the action is that features cafeteria style, a full bar, large open area, Club Member’s Lounge, and great views. Tamarack has also received some exciting recognition in the past few months. M EET TI A YOU NG , PROPERTYM A NAGEM ENT FOR BEN EFITTED U N ITS Tia and her husband moved to the area six months ago and fell in love with Tamarack. Having lived in Bend, Oregon for the past two decades, they wanted to make a change. “Bend had gotten so overcrowded,” Tia says, “and when we visited Tamarack, it felt like Bend did 25 years ago. We liked it right away.” They liked it so much they moved, even before she had a job at Tamarack.
Q:
WHAT BROUGHT YOU TO TAMAR ACK?
TIA: My husband and I were looking for a change and the McCall-Donnelly area had everything we wanted. We liked the people, the pace of life, proximity to the mountains, and it’s a great school district for our two kids, who are 10 and 7. Q:
HOW DID YOU END UP WORKING AT TAMAR ACK?
TIA: I had visited Tamarack with a friend and it left a big impression. I loved the Alpine setting, the hospitality, the community of people, and the staff. Everyone seemed so happy. It looked like a fun place work so I applied, met with Kim Teffler and Kim Finely, and got this great job in property management. Q:
WHAT IS YOUR ROLE SPECIFICALLY WITHIN PROPERT Y MANAGEMENT?
TIA: I work with the Benefitted Units, which include villas, townhomes, cottages, and chalets. My primary job is to safeguard our owners’ investments, as well as help them generate income. I make sure each property is maintained and up-to-date on certifications and inspections. We walk-through each property every week, both before and after guests arrive. Q:
WHAT DO YOU LIKE BEST ABOUT THIS JOB?
TIA: I enjoy getting to know the homeowners, so that I understand their expectations and concerns. Tamarack is their home away from home. I want to ensure it gets the care and attention they expect. They get to know me and realize they have someone on-site who is looking after their investment and making sure that it stays in great condition, season after season. Q:
YOU’VE BEEN HERE SIX MONTHS, HOW DO YOU LIKE IT?
TIA: I love it! This is a great community and everyone works hard but has fun too. I always kid others that the Property Management Team is ‘the funnest team in Tamarack.’ We all work together really well and have the single focus of making sure each property is in the best condition possible—we take care of each property as if it was our own. I think the homeowners really appreciate the attentiveness and hands-on service we provide.”

Tamarack is taking lake living to new heights. After much strategic envisioning and consideration, Tamarack Resort is moving forward with the much-anticipated waterfront expansion on Lake Cascade. This is another example of Tamarack’s ongoing commitment to deliver modern amenities and abundant lifestyle experiences that further solidify Tamarack as the premier ski-golf-lake community in the West.
“ We appreciate the hard work and thoughtful process of the Bureau of Reclamation and the Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation to help us bring enhanced facilities and recreation offerings to Lake Cascade. As America’s only ski, golf and lake resort, Tamarack is proud to be developing this world-class marina for boaters and water sports enthusiasts.” Scott Turlington, Tamarack President
The Marina will have 200 boat slips, including dedicated slips for personal watercraft, on-water fuel, boat mooring facilities, a rental and retail facility, expanded marina parking, a sand sports and beach area, grab-and-go food and drinks from Tamarack’s Mountain Bites food truck, and an enhanced rental fleet of motorized and non-motorized watercraft. Construction will begin as soon as the Bureau of Reclamation completes its environmental analysis. The goal is to open by Memorial Day, with about 70 initial boat slips, on-water fuel, a rental and retail facility, enhanced beachfront access, food and drink offerings, additional parking, and a dedicated sand sports area.

A ROBERT TRENT JONES II MASTERPIECE With nine holes already completed and in play, it’s not too early to designate this championship golf course one of the finest in the West. Sculpted naturally into the landscape—in a stunning meadow, lined with Ponderosa pines—Osprey Meadows is a classic “everyday” course designed for players of all skill levels. The final nine holes will be completed in 2024, along with a 19th Gambler’s Hole. Bordering a bird sanctuary, the course gives linksters panoramic views of the mountains and lake. The Pros are at your Service The Osprey Meadows Pro Shop is located at the bottom level of The Lodge at Osprey Meadows. And while the 2023 season is coming to a close, the course will reopen in the Spring of 2024. Players will be able to book tee times by calling the Osprey Matters Pro Shop at 208-325-1458. HOMEOWNER PROFILE: MELANIE & JOEL FLAKE This month we are happy to feature our friends Melanie and Joel. Along with their seven children, they have been coming to Tamarack since 2012. As residents of Eagle, their drive is convenient (just 80 miles) and they spend as much time here as they can—all four seasons. This past month, they became Charter Club Members. Let’s hear more about their story.
Q: HOW D I D YO U T WO FI R ST HEAR AB OU T TAMAR AC K? MELANIE: We moved to the Boise area in 2002 and some of our friends, Jason and Lillie Crawford, kept going away each weekend to this place called “Tamarack.” I asked her more about it and she invited us to come up and see it for ourselves. We loved it—and how close it was to Eagle, where we lived. Q: WHEN DI D YO U GUYS BEC OME OW NERS ? JOEL: That same day. We went up, saw it, loved everything about it, and immediately bought a Townhouse in 2013, and then a Chalet in 2015. We still love it up here as much or more than ever. Q: WH AT AT T R AC T ED YO U TO TAMAR AC K? MELANIE: We love that it’s a four-season community and how much outdoor recreation they offer. We come on holidays and weekends…and we spend big chunks of time here in the ski season and summer. We’re up here around 120 days a year. And it’s a really easy drive back to Eagle, too. JOEL: Our kids love it too. We have four boys and three girls and all but two of them have worked, or are working, at Tamarack. They have either worked as ski instructors, or at the Marina and Tune/Bike shop. A couple have done Trail Maintenance, as well. So, all that to say that Tamarack has been a wonderful place to have our kids grow up and be a part of this great community. They have an expanded friend group and opportunities that they wouldn’t have had if we hadn’t bought here.

Q: WHAT DO YO U LI K E BEST A BO UT TAMAR AC K? MELANIE: That’s hard to answer. We love it all. We literally use ALL the amenities, spring, summer, winter, fall. We love ski season—all of our kids learned to ski up here and we had three on the ski team. But we also like renting boats during lake season, and ziplining, wake surfing, and the golf at Osprey Meadows. We never run out of things to do. JOEL: I would like to emphasize the communal spirit too. Everyone is in a good mood up here. Everyone’s smiling. And not just the neighbors and other owners, but the staff, too. They’ve become like extended family—we’re on a first-name basis with them. Everyone is so gracious and eager to help or assist in any way. They truly make you feel welcome.

So, I would tell anyone, come up here like we did and give it a look. See what they have to offer and the various living options they have. It’s impossible not to fall in love with Tamarack from the first time you visit.
