Police recently took a 20-year-old Millbrook man into custody on multiple felony kidnapping and robbery charges. The Wetumpka City Council discussed opening and awarding bids for a replacement to the Wetumpka Municipal Airport’s fuel supplier during Monday’s regularly scheduled council meeting. Airport manager Lynn Weldon said she chose to shut down the airport’s fuel systems around two weeks ago. “It was just time to update them,” Weldon said. Tiffany Robinson said the city received a bid from Rebel Services for $163,530, FDI for $88,446 and Fuel Tech Inc. for $105,962.23. See AIRPORT • Page A2

Hundreds of spectators lined the streets for Wetumpka’s annual Christmas parade, which culminated the city’s annual Christmas on the Coosa events Saturday afternoon. The parade was preceded by a vendor market and a car show. Wreaths Across America honors Millbrook veterans By AMALIA KORTRIGHT Bureau Chief

More than 400 deceased military veterans were honored at Brookside Memorial Gardens in Millbrook Saturday morning during a Wreaths Across America ceremony. The ceremony was organized by American Heritage Girls Troop 0125.

During the ceremony, dozens of people laid wreaths on the graves of military veterans throughout the cemetery. According to troop coordinator Susan Waldrop, Wreaths Across America took place at more than 1,400 locations across the United States.
