New school brings lessons in patience and frustration
CLIFF WILLIAMS | THE TRIBUNE
After a year in the old Tallassee High School and two years in the school trailer park, also known as the mobile classrooms, the senior class decided to open the new school year in a new way. The Class of 2024 gathered in front of the school Tuesday morning at sunrise in pajamas to have breakfast and gather for a prayer, hoping for a good year for all. Even a few parents dressed like their children. Students then walked into the halls of the new Tallassee High School. The entire student body gathered for the first time in years in school’s new auditorium. Teachers welcomed students in the halls of the school, something not possible in the mobile classroom village during construction of the new school.
