TAFE at School Gold Coast Region CPC20220 Certificate II in Construction Course Description Kick start your career in the construction industry with this entry-level course. You will gain basic knowledge of a variety of trades and the operational skills required to work on a construction site. The building and construction industry is predicted to grow moderately over the next five years. Job prospects are particularly strong for construction workers and labourers. This course covers core units of competency required in most Certificate III building and construction qualifications, such as measurements and calculations, using hand and power tools and workplace health and safety. Elective units may be chosen from a range of streams including brick and blocklaying, carpentry, wall and floor tiling, and painting. Our teachers have worked in their trade and maintain close industry ties, ensuring they deliver hands-on training that reflects current industry practice. Our large-scale training spaces are set up to replicate commercial and residential settings, delivering a "real-world" training experience. This foundation course provides a pathway to a number of the primary trades in the construction industry, with the exception of plumbing.
