TAFE at Schools Gold Coast Region Career Taster Personal Services Program Description This introductory program offers hands-on experience across a range of industries, including hairdressing and barbering, beauty, make-up and nails, massage, and fitness at the TAFE Queensland campus. Designed to help you explore your interests and discover potential career pathways, the program provides a practical introduction to each industry while building valuable workplace and employability skills. Learners begin with orientation, workplace health and safety (WHS), sustainability, and facility familiarisation before participating in a variety of interactive workshops. Over the following weeks, participants will develop foundational skills and industry knowledge in hair and beauty services, make-up application, nail techniques, massage therapies, and fitness principles. Learners will also have opportunities to hear from industry professionals, participate in teaching team Q&A sessions, and gain insight into career opportunities across the health, beauty, and fitness sectors. Selection Criteria This program is offered to year 10 students currently enrolled in and attending a State, Private or Independent School in Queensland.
