MEM20422 Certificate II in Engineering Pathways Kickstart a career in the marine industry with hands-on training and real exposure to the Gold Coast Marine Precinct through our partnership with the Boating Industry Association. Through this partnership, students will benefit from BIA’s industry add-ons, including delivery of the BIA Marine Card (marine safety induction), career pathway presentations, and guided tours of the Gold Coast Marine Precinct to experience real-world marine workplaces. It’s an exciting opportunity to gain practical skills, explore future career options, and connect with the Boating Industry Association and leading employers across the marine precinct. If you’re passionate about problem-solving, working with your hands, or exploring how things are made, this program is your first step toward a career in the engineering industry. Delivery: Part time, 1 day per week, Thursday Location: TAFE Queensland Coomera Marine Campus Duration: 3 terms Start date: 23 April 2026 QCE credits: Up to 4 Funding: VETIS* Personal Protective Equipment is required for this course, further details to be provided upon application.

Work experience Work experience is an integral part of this course and provides you with the opportunity to further your learning while undertaking authentic industry tasks, as well as forming careerbuilding relationships within your field of study. We recommend that all students undertake work experience, you will be provided more information in class.

What is VETiS? Vocational Education and Training in Schools (VETiS) is a program that enables students to gain nationally recognised qualifications while at school. VETiS can be undertaken in years 10, 11 and 12, and can count towards the Queensland Certificate of Education. Students undertaking VETiS, which is funded by the Queensland Government through the Department of Trade, Employment and Training (DTET), can complete one employment stream qualification at the certificate I or II level.
