A wintering program is available on all bull purchases.
All bulls must be insured.
Herd bulls and long yearling bulls will be semen tested prior to the sale.
All 2025 bull calves that are wintered will be semen tested prior to pick up and are guaranteed to pass a semen test.
A wintering fee of $750 per bull which includes semen testing is payable at the time of sale on bulls sold under $6500 2025 bull calves taken at the time of the sale will sell with no further guarantee. All bulls must be picked up by April 30, 2026.

A good friend of mine, Ernie McDonald said, “a wise man knows when he’s done enough.” Well, I’m not sure that I am wise, but I’ve done enough.
I’ve had a passion for this breed, and especially the people for 48 years. It all started in 1977 with a new bride, Sharon, me and Gordon taking a drive on a hot Sunday afternoon to Ed & Joan Clark’s farm in Kipling, SK. We came home with 10 registered cows.
Jay Holmes first showed some animals for us. GHC Model Man 21N in 1981 was a high seller at Regina Bull Sale for $31,000. At that time, it would have bought us 5 or 6 new half ton trucks. I still reach out to Jay for advice, and he remains one of my close friends.
Our first major expansion came in 1998 when we bought the good herd from Fred & Marilyn Mason. Also, that year we reached a deal with a well-respected friend and mentor to me, Tom Warnyca, to purchase WTK Continental 66F. He went on to win Agribition and Reserve at the Denver Stock Show. He was an amazing beast. We had people from all over the world come to admire him. Sons and daughters sold all over North America. Gordon and I traveled many miles to look at cattle. A good partnership that lasted until 2019 when the herd was divided up. We have been lucky to host visitors form all over the world. Hosting a SHA meeting, zone meeting tours, World Hereford council stop and numerous cattle sales. I’ve had several mentors over the years anda will mention a couple. Ted Serhienko and Dennis Nevin were both instrumental in building what we have today. Although I never had the patience to halter break, clip or wash cattle I admire the people that do. We have been fortunate to show a few animals that have won at the National and International level. None of the showing would have been possible without Jeromy & Arden Charlton and Dave & Kurtis Reid. They did an excellent job of getting them ready and showing them for us. They showed and promoted our cattle like they were their own. True friends and extended family. Thank you. I always believed in buying a herd bull to build uniformity and predictability. I was told by an uncle that it doesn’t cost any more to feed a good one than a poor one. We’ve always kept that in mind. The cowherd has never been in as good of shape, top to bottom, as it is today. I think there is one animal here that is halter broke.

I judge cattle not on ribbons or banners but on how much money they’ve made us. In that case there are several champions here!

Welcome to the 48 years in the making Crittenden Land & Cattle Complete Dispersal. It definitely hits me with mixed emotions as I sit down to right this welcome as Howard was one of the first Hereford breeders I toured with Ted when I started traveling with T Bar and he was the first to allow me the privilege to auctioneer his production sale.
Howard Crittenden is a true breeder and student of Hereford cattle; he is extremely passionate and dedicated to the Hereford breed. He has served as a Provincial and National board member and has always encouraged and mentored new breeders. Howard has bred cattle his own way and never been one to chase fads. The results speak for themselves, this is a powerful, productive, outcross cow herd with exceptional data to back them up.
The Crittenden brand can be found across North America and is sought after and pointed out by cattle breeders around the world. This family has hosted several successful production sales and consigned to some top events in the past. The females sold have been extremely well received and have built a reputation for being productive earners and often end up in the donor pen of the purchaser. However, I’m sure if you ask Howard what he is most proud of its the popularity of his bull pen. Howard has influenced the breed in a big way selling herd bulls to other influential breeders across North America and this programs influence can be found in a lot of pedigrees. Where Howards real passion has kicked in though was selling commercial bulls to his many repeat customers who line up to get in his bull pen each year and many of whom have got to know Howards keen eye and reputation and integrity and they simply call Howard and tell him to bring them the bulls they need. It just so happens that this year’s bull pen, might be the strongest one top to bottom ever.
December 20th is going to be the end of a chapter for Howard and Sharon; however, it is an exciting beginning of a new chapter for all of you who take the opportunity to add a piece of this great program that has been built over the last half a century. All of us at T Bar C wish Howard and Sharon the very best in their next chapter, good news boys Howard will have even more time to dedicate to his advisory role around the farm!

TERMS: The terms of the sale are cash or cheque, payable at par at the sale location. The right of property shall not pass until after settlement has been made; no invoicing on buyers in attendance unless previous arrangements have been made. Every animal sells to the highest bidder and in cases of disputes, the auctioneer’s decision will be final. Announcements from the auction block will take precedence over the printed matter in the catalogue. Current exchange rates will be announced sale day. All monies are in Canadian funds.
CERTIFICATE OF REGISTRATION: Each animal will carry papers issued by the Canadian Hereford Association. A certificate of registry duly transferred will be furnished to the buyer for each animal after payment has been made.
PEDIGREE ESTIMATES: Pedigree Estimates (PE) are created on the projected mating of the animal’s sire and dam based on averages of the two, creating estimated values that do not hold the same accuracy of actual EPDs issued from the association and should be used as such.
HEALTH: All animals in the sale have met all necessary health requirements.
GUARANTEE: Each animal becomes the purchaser’s risk immediately after the animal is sold. All animals in this sale will be sold under the terms and guarantees set forth by the Canadian Hereford Association with regards to health, freedom from defects and from both reproductive and specific genetic unsoundness.
PREGNANCY INFORMATION: All serviceable age females have been pregnancy examined by an accredited veterinarian, giving an estimated length of gestation. This estimated gestation period shall be used only as a guideline to calving and is not a guarantee of actual service.
LIABILITIES: All persons attend the sale at their own risk. The seller, facility owner and sale manager assume no liability, legal or otherwise, for any accidents that occur. It is understood that T Bar C Cattle Co.
