Welcome to our 2026 Private Treaty Bull Sale book. For 32 years EKW Red Angus has produced BEEF BULLS in the Sask River Valley community, and I can’t remember a year when the bulls we have were as good as a group as they are in this year’s pen. By good I mean structurally sound from toe to head, growthy, thick, easy fleshing, hairy and even the coloring is awesome! But, far more than the bulls themselves, is the breeding behind them. Because Red Angus is a maternal breed we put a lot of emphasis on breeding quality cows, and letting a real-world ranching environment test them. We don’t just have cows that look good; they need to produce as well. Efficient cattle where the cows produce and breed back year after year on forage alone. They live into their teens with a good calf at foot every year. Trouble free, even tempered with excellent mothering abilities. To accomplish all this takes fertility, great udders with a smaller teat size, sound feet and roomy cattle: deep ribbed, big girthed with large pelvises and fleshing ability.
Now to the breeding specifically. We have a group of Rumble sons that are just Wonderful! Highly muscled growthy, fancy, easy doing bulls with incredible hair. Several are super thick; several are dark red as you could wish. In 2023 we offered Rumble for sale for $25,000 or we were going to use him ourselves. We invite you all to come evaluate his sons and see if we made a wise choice. The good news is you can select from a nice sire group with several of these sons rivaling the quality of their sire all for less money in a higher market! By the way we calved our first Rumble daughters this winter and they may be better than their brothers, just saying… Also, we have 4 excellent Hot Shot sons. They have excellent length, growth and style with nice feet. Then we have a 90’s pedigreed AI bull by Prime Rib, a black/red carrier Park Place 18Y AI bull off of a first calf Dracarys daughter who has an excellent build.
We believe these bulls will sire awesome replacement females and steers that will create extra thumb jerks on buyers row. $2,500 deposit per bull when you select your new bull or bulls. Balance due when delivered or picked up.
OR PAYMENT IN FULL when selecting your new bull or bulls.
BOARDING
All bulls can be boarded free until May 31, 2026. All bulls can be boarded beyond May 31, 2026 for a $200 charge (per bull), which will include regular delivery.
DELIVERY OR PICK UP
1. All bulls sold in Saskatchewan, delivered FREE OF CHARGE. All bull purchases totalling $10,000 or more will be delivered free of charge in Alberta or Manitoba as well. Bulls to be delivered by May 31, 2026.
2. Bulls may stay longer than May 31, 2026: a $200 charge will be added to these bulls which will include delivery.
BULL GUARANTEE
EKW Red Angus guarantees to sell you a bull in good health that has the ability to settle cows, is sound on his feet and will pass a semen test. Bulls will be semen tested in April prior to delivery. In case of breeding incapability, we will replace the bull with a bull of equal value. In no event does this guarantee exceed the purchase price of the bull. We take full responsibility for the bulls until the bulls are in your care, i.e.; they are loaded on your trailer or arrive at your farm. This guarantee does not cover mismanagement, injury or death after he is in his new owner’s care. However, should an accident happen, we will do our best to get your cows bred with one of our EKW Red Angus Bulls. Should you have a problem please call me first. I will rectify the problem.
THE BULLS’ RATION
All bulls fed together. Free choice round hay bales grass/alfalfa mixed hay. 1.2% body weight 18% Custom Grain Blend from Willow Mills fed by pail twice daily. Bulls have have mineral sprinkled into their grain trough daily to ensure proper uptake. They are developed with health and longevity top of mind.
CALVING EASE SCORE
We evaluate each prospective herd bull for calving ease, determined by bone size, BW, CE, EPD and profile.

A NOTE ON THE PERFORMANCE NUMBERS
The weaning weights taken October 16, 2025 and the bulls weights taken January 3, 2026 are actual weights. The adjusted weights were not generated by the Angus Association and have no adjustments for dams age etc. They accurately reflect the bulls actual weight at the age based entirely on their prewean gain and their post wean gain multiplied by the appropriate number of days.

This picture was taken five days after the first rain of ‘25 after 40 plus days exposed to 40 plus cows. He’s an incredible breeding bull both in terms of settling cows and in siring awesome progeny. His bulls this year are thick, long, correct bulls and his daughters are easy keeping, good uddered females. Fertile, long, big ribbed, hairy and correct.

Hot Shot bred heifers for several years but our 2025 sons are mostly out of cows. He has been an excellent calving ease sire. His sons are extremely long bodied easy keeping bulls with a very correct toe structure. His daughters make good mothers - very efficient with excellent udders. A wonderful maternal sire.
