KAY-R CHAROLAIS

WELCOME

Welcome to the 2026 edition of the KAY-R Charolais Bull Sale. On Behalf of the entire Phillips family - Kasey, Arlana, Kord and Peri, We’d like to thank you for taking the time to review this year’s sales offering. We are very proud of the continued support that each one of you give to us, whether it be through friendship or the cattle business.

Whether you are a seedstock or commercial producer, we feel that this year’s bull pen has something to offer you. For well over 40 years we have stuck to the basics and tried to provide a product that would stand the test of time and provide increased value for you the customer. We are very proud of our cow herd and what they produce. Dispositions and udder quality have always been key traits that they must have. We work hard to produce cattle that have hair, muscle, length and calving ease. Once you go through this year’s bull pen you will notice that all of these traits are evident in each and every bull.

Congratulations to all you cowboys who stood the test of time and finally got rewarded for your years of hard work! The Recorded prices that we’ve seen across the country for all classes of cattle is just a small sample of the value that each farm family contributes to their communities. The best part of the purebred cattle business is the people that you meet. Repeat customers is our definition of success and the majority of bull pen will be sold to them. Thank you to many longtime friends and customers for your years of support.

2025 was a very successful year for us. Reid hunter has been with us for a few years now and his steer that was purchased from us was Grand Champion at the Calgary Stampede. Great Job Reid! Your hard work paid off. Our fall show and sale season was very successful. KAY-R Tremor was Champion bull at both Farmfair and Agribition and went on to be Supreme Champion at Agribition as well. Truly a dream that came true for our family.

We welcome everyone to come tour the bull pen anytime prior to the sale. If you are unable to make it to the sale, please feel free to contact Myself or Kord or any of the T Bar C Crew at any time and we’ll do our best to help you out.

Best Regards, Kasey Phillips

Kay-R Charolais has earned a reputation for blending elite genetics with a disciplined, forward-thinking breeding program. That approach was on full display this past November, when a graduate of this very sale captured the 2025 Canadian Western Agribition Supreme Champion Bull title - an achievement that underscores the consistency and quality behind the Kay-R prefix.

This year’s sale is led by two impressive brothers out of the great Covergirl female, a cornerstone cow within the program. One is sired by Padra and the other by Pascal, offering two powerful genetic options from a proven and highly respected maternal line.

Adding further excitement to this offering are the first sons of Frontier ever offered for sale. Frontier, a past high seller, has generated significant anticipation, and this initial group of sons lives up to expectations with added power, muscle, and presence. The front end of this year’s lineup is as stout and powerful as Kay-R Charolais has assembled to date, featuring bulls with extra mass, depth, and performance. At the same time, the offering maintains excellent balance, with several calving ease options available - providing flexibility for both heifer and cow breeding programs. Several highlights in the calving ease group are sired by their new low birth sire Counting Up.

This set of bulls reflects the careful selection, proven cow families, and progressive mindset that define Kay-R Charolais. Buyers can evaluate this offering with confidence, knowing these bulls are backed by results and a program committed to producing cattle that excel in today’s industry.

Hopefully you can join us sale day to see this powerful lineup of leading Charolais sires in their natural environment, with their mothers close by for those of you who want to view the maternal side of your new herd sire. If you are unable to make the trip and require any assistance, feel free to contact any of the T Bar team as we are more than happy to assist you any way we can, in a confident and professional manner.

Kay-R the Advantage

Proven Performance

Kay-R Charolais cattle are built on decades of performance-based selection. With a focus on weaning weights, feed efficiency, and carcass quality, Kay-R genetics are trusted by both commercial and seedstock producers to deliver results that pay.

Industry-Leading Sires

From powerful herd bulls to record-setting AI sires, Kay-R has developed and sold some of the most influential bulls in the Charolais breed. Their genetics continue to shape programs across Canada and beyond, offering consistency, muscle, and growth.

Functional

Cattle That Work

Structural soundness, maternal strength, and disposition are never compromised. Kay-R cattle are designed to thrive in real-world ranch conditions, offering longevity, fertility, and the ability to raise heavy calves year after year.

Generations of Commitment

Family-owned and operated for generations, Kay-R Charolais is a name built on integrity, innovation, and results. Their commitment to customer satisfaction and genetic advancement remains at the core of every calf they raise.

WELCOME FROM BULLSEYE FEEDS

It has been a pleasure working with the crew at Kay-R on their nutrition program. They are known for raising elite seedstock and this remains true for this year’s high quality, consistent bull offering. I hope you can see this impressive set of Charolais bulls in person.

The bull feeding program is built to maximize forage utilization and gut health. All forages are sampled and analyzed to ensure quality feed sources are used. Once the calves are weaned, they are slowly transitioned to a TMR. The TMR is forage based and is designed to promote lean muscle growth, allowing the bulls to express their genetic potential. Rumen health is of upmost importance, which is why suitable protein sources and proper starch levels are fed to the bulls. Organic minerals are used both on the cow herd and sale bulls to ensure proper immune function an

If you have any questions about the nutrition program, feel free to reach out. Buy with confidence knowing the bulls have been developed on a balanced nutrition program.

Good luck on sale day!

KAY-R Counting Up 307N is an exciting young herdsire that puts everything together properly. A big focus in our cowherd is maternal strength and we believe this young calving ease sire combines that focus with added per formance in an extremely attractive build. Counting Up’s dam is a standout as one of our favourite young females for her depth of body, structure and udder quality. Commissioner on the bottom side of his pedigree only adds extra dependability for extra calving ease without sacrificing growth and the important fundamentals. 307N’s great great granddam is our Covergirl 26Y donor cow, and I’m sure you have picked out her two ET sons and his great granddam also has a top end bull on offer this year. KAY-R Marksman 284N is a really smooth made eye appealing bull that is correct from the ground all the way up. He has an extra shot of length in his rib cage without giving up any depth or softness. He is one of the biggest hipped bulls in the offering and carries his muscle through his top and all the way down to his lower quarter. His dam is a young female from the Annabelle cow family and sired by commissioner. KAY-R Fruition 26K, a past high seller who is doing a tremendous job breeding, was a Commissioner off an Annabelle female. 284N is big performing bull with extra muscle, maternal quality and consistency in production.

KAY-R Emmett 706N is a bull that offers as much as any. He is a March 18th calf that I believe has a ton to offer in terms of added growth and quality for not just keeping up with bulls up to 60 days older but thriving in the same environment as them. He is as deep and soggy as you could ever want with a big hip and extra width in his hook and pins. A maternal sister sired by Mescalito which would make her a ¾ sister to 706N was shown successfully as a two year old in 2024 winning grand or reserve division multiple times. Emmett will be a bull that adds depth and mass into his calf crop and his daughters will be heavy milking with impeccable udder quality.
