St Edward’s College Announces Historic Move to Full Co-Education St Edw ard’s College, one of the olde st and most pre stigious independent schools in Malta, is prou d to announce a histori c mile stone: the school will transition to a fully co-edu ca tional mo del starting in September 2025. This signifi cant development marks the next chapter in the school’s long and distinguished history, as St Edw ard’s consoli da te s its commitment to provi ding an inclusive and forw ard-thinking edu ca tion. Founded in 1929 as a boys' boarding school, St Edw ard's has a legacy of academi c excellence, character development, and leadership prep ara tion. Over the years, the College gradually evolved, intro du cing co-edu ca tion a t the nurs ery and I nterna tional Baccalaurea te (IB) levels. The decision to adopt a fully co-edu ca tional environment follows su bstantial discussions and re s earch ensuring tha t the new environment meets the needs of mo dern famili e s while upholding the school's core v alue s. The transition will be implemented gradually and incrementally starting from the KG2 cohort and moving together into Year 1 in 2025. This phas ed approach will allow the College to carefully manage the transition and support the community throughout the proce ss.
