We would like to thank you for your time and interest in our bred sow and rare semen offering. This year has certainly been one of the toughest on myself and Mauck Show Hogs, but our “never quit” attitude and our commitment to this industry bring us out of bed each and every morning with drive and determination to make every aspect of our business as good as it can be for our customers. Through these tough times, I have had a chance to reflect on life and business. It has become very clear to me exactly how much of what we do affects those who trust in our program and brand. The genetics we are offering for sale on November 17, 2021 are the cornerstone of our program. Neil and I want to continue to build a rich tradition of producing reliable and lasting genetics for our customers to engage in the same successes we have been blessed with. As a testimony, this catalog contains just a few of the many calls and texts we have received from past females purchased from Mauck Show Hogs. We have worked very hard to make our hogs have their own “look”—a difference to offer a rewarding advantage to get you to the backdrop. I think it’s safe to say that we have gained national respect as an elite source for Berkshire genetics. To be blunt, we still question the reason as to why we aren’t equally as accepted in the crossbred circle and wonder how many more wins or what exactly it will take. Neil and I want to extend a sincere thank you for all the support and friendships we have made over the years. Lot 7 is high on our list for a number of reasons. Individually, she is a very good animal. Her value in our eyes comes from her extra attractive look and balance along with her skeletal quality. She is double bred for these traits and inherits a strong majority from her mom. Her dam is also the dam to our past three to four years winning WPX junior hogs’ success in both the barrow and gilt rings. Lot 8 is a past show gilt for the Kocher family. As a young show gilt, she held her own and even was a class winner at Kansas City. We are using her show ring photo and will try to get a mature picture if weather permits. In person, 56-6 is one of the best in our sow pool for height of shoulder with look and extension from her blade forward. Her muscle is correct, and she has an amazing support system underneath in near perfect feet and legs. Being bred to Jet Black for an early December litter should allow her new owner to not only have elite offspring with value, but the pedigree supports a possible bell ringer boar. This pair of 57 litter gilts is a result of focus and a long range plan of ours. We have seen firsthand the quick impact that Dirty Secret had on the industry as a whole, and with doubling that the result is wicked. The mother of these two is a result of using frozen Dirty Secret back on a Dirty Secret daughter (pictured below) that was shown by the Turner family in Georgia with major success. Circling back to breeding livestock, we felt that Hall Pass was a no-brainer choice to use on the line bred Dirty line for added back shape, a tighter ear size, and an attractive look. It obviously worked, and we have retained all the daughters out of this mating while offering the best two right here! We chose to breed this pair to Here To Help, who is on stud at our place. What a combined pedigree here in Lots 13, 14, and 15. Nothing To Hide had a dominating summer in 2020, and we were quick to realize that we need to run him hard through our place.
