MC ARENA DIRECTOR INVITES COMMUNITY & REGION TO UPCOMING RODEOS

Haley Stanfield is working hard to ensure the arena stays busy with the kinds of events that entertain McNairy County and the entire Southwest Tennessee and North Mississippi regions. Rodeos in particular have been popular and well attended arena events. Two rodeos are planned for 2026 so far. The first, the 3rd Annual Rockabilly Rodeo will be held February 6th and 7th at the arena. The event, which is produced by Rockin K Rodeo Productions and First Choice Farm & LawnSavannah, has been a staple at the arena since opening. Doors will open at 6 pm nightly with the performance starting at 8 pm. Tickets at the door are $20 for adults, kids 12 and under are free.
In August, the Professional Armed Forces Rodeo Association will host two nights of rodeo action at the arena. Those dates are August 21st and August 22nd, and will include a concert after each performance.
The Professional Armed Forces Rodeo Association is a veteran’s organization, comprised of active-duty, retired servicemen and women, reservists, National Guard and honorably discharged veterans from all branches of service. The organization's goal is to provide a venue where men and women who share the bond of military service can come together and compete in the sport of rodeo

Aspiring songwriters and musicians will share their original songs on stage as Tennessee Songwriters Week qualifying rounds kick off Jan. 25-Feb. 7. More than 60 participating music venues, including cafes, listening rooms, lounges, breweries, distilleries, museums, hotels, historic theatres and bookshops will spotlight songwriters on stages across the Volunteer State – from small towns to vibrant cities.
Since its inception in 2019, Tennessee Songwriters Week supports music venues, provides songwriters with live performance opportunities, drives visitation and inspires travelers to experience the state's musical stories, history and attractions. In 2026, the program, helmed by the Tennessee Department of Tourist Development, will celebrate more than 6,000 songwriters who have shared their original music on Tennessee stages Tennessee Songwriters Week spotlights emerging songwriters that craft stories and give music its soul, sharing the same stages of the music icons who came before them. Songs will be judged by quality of the song (original lyrics/melody and clear narrative) and performance (ability to understand lyrics and connection with the audience) Follow the journey of these songwriters and join the fun by following @tnvacation, #tnsongwritersweek and #tnsoundsperfect on social media.

Visit Jackson to Host Annual Tennessee Songwriters
Qualifying Round & Concert By LOLO
On Saturday, Jan. 31, 2026, from 3-7 p.m. at Hub City Brewing, Visit Jackson will host one of the Tennessee Songwriters Week 2026 Qualifying Rounds, bringing together songwriters, music fans and the Jackson community for a day of live original music
The event will feature performances by 20 local and regional songwriters competing for a chance to advance to the Tennessee Songwriters Week Semi-Finals in Memphis and a chance to perform in the finals at the iconic Bluebird Cafe in Nashville. The event will include a Q&A with LOLO, the awardwinning songwriter and recording artist behind hits like “High Hopes” by Pan!c At The Disco, followed by a free concert Jackson’s own DJ Von will serve as emcee.
“Jackson is building a strong reputation as a destination for live music and original songwriting,” said Beth Bolton, CEO of Visit Jackson “We’re lucky to have engaged audiences and intimate venues that create an environment where artists and visitors alike can experience music in a meaningful way, making Jackson a natural fit for Tennessee Songwriters Week.”
The Tennessee Songwriters competition highlights local artists and their original songs as a statewide effort to support music venues, foster live performances, drive visitors and inspire travelers to explore Tennessee’s music history The qualifying round in Jackson provides the community with an intimate setting to support their own local songwriters and celebrate West Tennessee’s diverse music scene.
