When not doing all of that, she loves spending time with family, listening to music, and cooking.

When asked why she believes it is important for women to lead and contribute in their community, Lisa said, “If not me (or you), then who? Be a leader, not a follower or an enabler. We need to make our community safer for our children and into a place that we can be proud of. Volunteering and contributing to one’s community develops leadership and leadership in turn results in self-confidence and the ability to make changes for the better. Generally speaking, women bring their own unique perspective and leadership to the table. A community cannot thrive without that diverse perspective. We are all equal, but sometimes, it just takes a woman to get the job done. Professionally speaking, my job allows me to use my skill set to protect the community by either keeping someone in jail or offering them services to make them a productive member of society. It also allows me to advocate for the those that cannot advocate for themselves. Personally speaking, I want to be a role model for my girls and give them the courage to do anything in life they want to do. I do not want them to be at any disadvantage simply because they are women.I want them to live by my take of a popular quote: ‘When the world tells you that you are not strong enough to withstand the storm, show the world that you are the storm.”
Thank you, Lisa. You are a wonderful example.

Understanding Inflammaging

Most women think aging is about wrinkles. But long before skin changes, something quieter is happening beneath the surface. It’s called inflammaging a term used to describe chronic, low-grade inflammation that gradually accelerates biological aging. You can’t see it at first. But over time, you feel it. Energy dips lower., recovery takes longer, sleep becomes lighter, skin looks thinner, joints feel stiffer, and weight shifts more easily. It doesn’t feel dramatic. It feels subtle, until one day it isn’t.
What Is Inflammaging?
Inflammation is not inherently bad. It’s how the body repairs injury and fights infection.
But when inflammation becomes chronic driven by stress, poor sleep, blood sugar instability, environmental toxins, gut imbalance, or hormonal shifts it begins to damage healthy tissue. Over time, chronic inflammation:
Breaks down collagen
Accelerates muscle loss
Disrupts hormone signaling

Impairs mitochondrial function
Increases bone resorption
Affects brain clarity
It becomes a slow accelerant. And it often starts years before symptoms become obvious.

Why It Increases in Midlife
Hormonal transitions reduce some of the body’s natural anti-inflammatory protections. Estrogen, for example, has anti-inflammatory properties. As levels fluctuate and decline, inflammation becomes easier to trigger — and harder to calm. Combine that with Chronic stress, Sleep disruption, Higher metabolic strain, Decreased muscle mass, and inflammaging accelerates. This is why many women feel like aging “speeds up” in their 40s.It isn’t just collagen loss It’s systemic inflammation shifting the environment inside the body.
How Inflammation Shows Up on the Face

Chronic inflammation affects the skin by: Reducing collagen synthesis, Increasing collagen breakdown, Impairing wound healing, Increasing pigmentation irregularities , Contributing to redness and sensitivity. Skin may appear duller, thinner, more reactive, less resilient. No cream can override chronic inflammation. It must be addressed internally and structurally.
A Different Aging Strategy
If inflammaging is real, then aging well requires reducing chronic inflammatory load
That may include:
Improving sleep quality
Stabilizing blood sugar
Supporting gut health
Preserving muscle mass
Evaluating hormone balance
Using regenerative treatments that stimulate repair rather than irritate tissue. When inflammation decreases, the body becomes more regenerative. Skin responds better. Energy stabilizes. Recovery improves. Not because aging stopped, because the internal environment shifted
If you’re noticing subtle but persistent changes in energy, recovery, skin quality, or resilience, it may be time to look deeper.
Schedule a complimentary Longevity or Skin Assessment at Flourish Transformation Center to evaluate the biological factors influencing how you age including inflammation markers that often go unchecked.
Because aging isn’t just about time.
It’s about environment. And environment can be improved.
