TINA CHURCHWELL

2025 Ilovemc woman of the year

TINA CHURCHWELL

I Love McNairy County put the call out last month for nominations for the ILoveMC 2025 Woman of the Year. The call for nominations stated, “Who is your 2025 MC Woman of the Year and why? This woman can come from any section of our community. She can be an entrepreneur, manager, artist, teacher, philanthropist, etc.?” There were dozens of nominations. After going over the list of names, the five most nominated women were listed in a poll. Those ladies were Tina Churchwell, Jessica Huff, LaShell Moore, Haley Stanfield, and Karen Stutts Barbie. Churchwell is widely known for leading the McNairy County Humane Society and the rescuing of thousands of dogs. Huff leads the McNairy County Chamber of Commerce and Tourism office. Her work to promote local businesses and tourism made her a popular choice. LaShell Moore currently serves as Alderwoman for the Town of Selmer, but it was her near constant work to help those in need over the course of two decades that made her a nominee. Haley Stanfield is the McNairy County Parks and Recreation Director/McNairy County AG Event Center Director. In her role she organized efforts to help those impacted by last April’s tornado. She has also served multiple non-profit organizations in the county, helping them raise much needed funds for their work. Karen Stutts Barbee is widely known for her work, especially in the Michie community. She has organized National Day of Prayer events, various events to aid students, and so much more. Peruse her Facebook page and you’ll most likely see her organizing or helping a cause to help others. CONTINUE READING.........

TINA CHURCHWELL Voting ended at 8:09 p.m. December 25th. Exactly 3,212 votes were cast, with Tina Churchwell leading the way with 1,026 votes. The McNairy County Humane Society first began in 2003, becoming an official 501-C3 in 2004. Tina took over as President in 2006. Since that time, approximately 8,000 dogs have been rescued and placed with families, most of which are in the northern United States. Anyone that knows her knows that Tina can be hard to nail down. She’s a busy lady. As leader of the McNairy County Humane Society, she is almost constantly on the go, rescuing, feeding, providing medical care, and simply loving the almost innumerable number of dogs that she and her team care for daily. Aside from caring for these animals, it’s also been a personal journey for her. “When I was around 3 years old, I didn't talk much but when I did talk, I would stutter,” Tina said. “So, my mother took me to the doctor, and he asked did I have any siblings. She said yes, an older sister named Anita, which I could not say, so to this day most people know her as Nene. My mother explained we were like day and night. She was girly and I was a little tomboy. So, the doctor suggested for them to get me a puppy.” And get her a friend they did. His name was Lobo. “My grandfather Earl Churchwell built Lobo the biggest doghouse ever (to me),” Tina said. “It was 68 feet long with doors at both end, 6 feet wide and had a shingle roof. I can remember getting into that house and sitting with Lobo for hours, just talking, petting him and loving him. He didn't make fun of me because of how I talked, like kids did at Sunday School class at church and he loved me unconditionally. Then 20 years later I was told I would not be able to have kids, so I felt like God wanted me to take care of his four-legged kids. The joy in rescuing these strays is getting to see how they live and bring so much joy into families' life in the New England states.” The McNairy County Humane Society is located at 1266 Airport Rd in Selmer, Tennessee, and is almost constantly in need of assistance. Visit their website at www.mcnairycohumanesociety.com, scroll down to the donate button and click to make a donation. You can also visit their Facebook page to keep up with events and other news. Below are the vote totals with nominees in alphabetical order: Tina Churchwell – 1,026 votes Jessica Brown Huff – 209 votes Lashell Moore – 337 votes Haley Stanfield – 959 votes Karen Stutts Barbee – 681 votes Thank you to the more than 3,000 individuals that voted and thank you to Tina and the other amazing nominees for the work they do in our communities.

Aging Isn’t the Problem — How You Age Is Flourish Transformation Center Aging Is Inevitable. Decline Is Not. Most women don’t fear getting older. What they fear is losing energy, clarity, confidence, and control. Feeling tired all the time. Not recognizing themselves in the mirror. Losing motivation, drive, or mental sharpness. But here’s the truth most women are never told: Aging itself isn’t the problem. How you age is. And the way you age is influenced far more by daily habits, internal health, and strategy than by the number on your birthday cake.

VALERIE BARBER PA-C

Chronological Age vs. Biological Age Chronological age is simply how many years you’ve lived. Biological age reflects how well your body is actually functioning. Two women can be the same age and look, feel, and perform completely differently. Why? Because biological aging is influenced by: ● Stress exposure ● Sleep quality ● Hormonal balance ● Inflammation ● Mineral and nutrient status ● Blood sugar regulation ● Lifestyle and recovery These factors determine how fast—or how slowly—your body ages. CONTINUE READING............

The Quiet Signs You’re Aging Faster Than You Should Aging doesn’t start with wrinkles. It starts internally. Many women notice subtle shifts long before outward changes appear: ● Declining energy or motivation ● Brain fog or slower recall ● Weight gain despite the same habits ● Poor sleep or recovery ● Mood changes or anxiety ● Skin looking dull, thinner, or less resilient These are not “just part of getting older.” They are signals that your body needs support. Why Women Entrepreneurs Feel Aging More Intensely High-performing women often place their health last—without realizing the cost. Entrepreneurship brings: ● Chronic stress ● Long hours ● Mental overload ● Irregular meals ● Sleep disruption Over time, this accelerates biological aging unless it’s intentionally addressed. The result? Women who are successful on paper but exhausted in their bodies. CONTINUE READING............

Aging With a Strategy Changes Everything Aging well doesn’t require perfection—it requires awareness and a plan. Slowing biological aging starts with: ● Understanding how your body is responding to stress ● Identifying hormonal shifts early ● Replenishing minerals and nutrients ● Reducing chronic inflammation ● Supporting sleep and recovery ● Testing instead of guessing When these foundations are supported, women often experience: ● Improved energy ● Better sleep ● Clearer thinking ● Improved skin quality ● More confidence and resilience Not because they’re “anti-aging”—but because they’re aging intentionally. How Flourish Transformation Center Supports Healthy Aging At Flourish, we believe aging should be proactive—not reactive. We help women understand how their body is aging internally, using tools such as: ● Comprehensive lab testing ● Biohack Blueprint deep-dive assessments ● HTMA mineral analysis ● Hormone evaluations ● Personalized consultations From there, we create strategic, individualized plans that support longevity, performance, and vitality—inside and out. CONTINUE READING..............................

Sidebar: Daily Habits That Slow Biological Aging ● Prioritize quality sleep ● Manage stress intentionally ● Eat protein-rich, whole foods ● Support minerals and hydration ● Move your body daily ● Reduce inflammation ● Get regular health insights through testing Aging well isn’t about chasing youth. It’s about protecting your future self. If you’re noticing changes in energy, focus, or resilience, it may be time to look deeper. Call Flourish Transformation Center to schedule a Biohack Blueprint Deep Dive or comprehensive lab testing and learn how your body is aging—so you can influence what happens next.
