Not only red cottages are built in wood ... /Page 14
With two-thirds of Sweden’s land surface covered by forest there’s no mystery behind the country’s long tradition of using wood to build houses. Building with wood is good for the climate, for efficiency, quality and variations in architecture, for those who build and for those who live in the houses. While our feature in this issue covers a one-family structure, approximately 10 percent of multi-family houses in Sweden are presently built in wood. To this should be added schools, retirement homes, sports halls, bridges and more ... capacity is soon there to build up to 50% with the renewable source: wood. / P13-20 Building tall in Sweden / p4 Artificial Intelligence may be on everyone’s lips but its practical uses are elusive at best / p5 The lack of respect and its consequences in Swedish politics / p25
