MING DYNASTY
Islamisation of Xinjiang. Beginning of the emergence of a Muslim nation.
In ancient Chinese history, many tribes and ethnic groups lived in Xinjiang. Since the Han Dynasty, when the situation in Xinjiang(then known as the Western Regions) was documented, the region,as a “cross-roads” between Central and Northeast Asia, has been inhabitated by many ethnic groups, but the contemporary ethnic composition of Xinjiang did not take shape until the end of the nineteenth century. Moreover, the native ethnic groups of Xinjiang have long since died out, and the contemporary ethnic groups are strictly speaking outsiders.
During the Sui and Tang dynasties, in the mid-6th century, Xinjiang was divided into east and west because of struggles between ethnic groups.
Xinjiang has been an integral part of China since the Han Dynasty.
QING DYNASTY
The land of Xinjiang is finally connected to the rest of the world.
The Tang Dynasty saw the emergence of many new famous ethnic groups in Xinjiang.

Design type: narrative space
The project focuses on the story between a mother and her daughter through two films, where the mother's over-control of her daughter leads to a series of rebellious behaviours, but when the daughter grows up, she finds herself becoming just like her mother. The whole project is divided into 5 stages, the daughter and the mother have two different walking routes, they stand in different perspectives to feel the space of 5 different daughters growing up, and finally meet in the atrium to share each other's insights.
Design Concept
The process of conception is similar to the seperating of bubble.
The connection between bubble and the process of conception
The beginning of the space is partly the stage of the birth of a child, a feeling of exploring the unknown, like groping in the dark. With this light, the projection brings the visitor from outside into the room.
In the second part of the stage, which is a child's period, we want to express the feeling of happy and relaxing play, so we design the interior into some net-like ropes as well as open different sizes of holes. It allows visitors to experience the feeling of children crawling, exploring and playing.
At stage 4, which is adulthood, the children have their own opinions, and the relationship with their mother has reached a point of rupture, so the space will be divided into two different spaces, like two trains going in opposite directions that will not meet.
In the section of stage three, which is the stage of the child's teenager, this section wants to express the feeling of brokenness that occurs during adolescence when there are quarrels between mother and daughter, so the space is made of broken fabrics and the words of the quarrels are projected on it.
Part of Stage 5 is when the daughter is already married and has children, at which point they learn how hard it is to be a mother. They find themselves living the same pattern as their mother. There will be a feeling of sadness, a feeling of confusion.
Agoraphobia is an anxiety disorder characterised by symptoms of anxiety in people who perceive an environment as unsafe and from which they cannot easily escape. These situations may include open spaces, or simply being outside of one's own home, where panic attacks may result, and this symptom occurs almost every time the situation is encountered and lasts for more than six months. In severe cases, people may not be able to leave their homes at all.

Treatment area
The light in the treatment area is low, so the windows in the walls will be small holes that bring in a little bit of light.
Courtyard
When people have finished their treatment they can walk through the centre corridor to the rehabit space.

The project is located in the centre of Kingston on the banks of the River Thames, through the research I can find that most of the people living in Kingston are middle-aged and elderly. I hope to attract more young people and activate the vitality of Kingston. In the Needle Centre of Kingston I found that there are many street performers performing and they attract a lot of people to watch them. Through research I found out that street performers need.

Design type: material exploration
This project is a material design and research based on the shape of flowing water
Shaping Water - Analysis Sensual Textures - Analysis
Water is in a constant cycle of changing from a liquid to a gas because it is made up of millions of molecules that are in constant motion. Water has no shape. In its liquid form, it borrows the shape of the container it occupies.

Different Textures create a Soft light and minimalist design creating a space for relaxation and serenity depending on the tecture and where you have it. High-quality materials combined with rich textures translate into unique character of the interior.
Here are some examples of different wall textures:
“Creating textured walls with paint is a fantastic way to add depth, texture, and character to a room,” says Ginger Curtis, principal of Texas-based firm Urbanology Designs. It’s also a great way to camouflage damage or unevenness
Water, always important, always controversial, always fascinating, remains surprising. For a substance that is ubiquitous on Earth, three quarters of our planet is covered with it, researchers can still be surprised by some of its properties, according to Arizona State University chemist C. Austen Angell.

Grey Polystyrene
Grey Polystyrene (Graphite) boards have high-purity graphite particles infused into its cell structure that give it a reflective property and a distinctive dark grey colour.
Warm air always moves towards cold air, but in Grey Polystyrene (Graphite) boards. that path takes many twists and turns along the way, slowing down the heat transfer, keeping the premises warmer.
This improves its thermal conductivity to 0.031 W/mK, an improvement over standard expanded polystyrene boards.

This texture can be applied to the soft furnishing parts of different interiors, and the material can be used to keep the interior warm in the winter time.
