CULINARY | LIFELONG LEARNING | STORYTELLING AND BRANCH CONNECTION

STORYTELLING AND BRANCH CONNECTION

This Culinary series is more than preparing food. Residents make choices, follow familiar steps, use their senses, share memories, teach one another, and contribute to something the community can enjoy. Every role matters, whether a resident measures, mixes, tastes, watches, chooses, remembers, or encourages others.

Belonging

Respect

Autonomy

Nurture

Connection

Everyone has a place in the kitchen experience, whether they prepare, taste, observe, pass an ingredient, or celebrate the finished recipe.

Residents are approached as people with preferences, family traditions, skills, and wisdom. Their pace, culture, and choices are honored.

Residents choose ingredients, colors, flavors, tools, roles, portions, or the way they would like to participate.

Familiar aromas, simple steps, sensory cues, and gentle encouragement create comfort, confidence, and emotional warmth.

Preparing and sharing food creates natural conversation among residents, staff, families, dining, recreation, and visitors.

Hope

The Lifelong Learning theme reminds the community that residents continue to learn, teach, contribute, create, and be celebrated.

FAMILY, TOUR, AND COMMUNITY SHARING SCRIPT

Today our community participated in Lifelong Learning through Culinary. Residents chose ingredients, measured, mixed, arranged, tasted, shared food memories, and helped complete a recipe together. Every resident can be part of it by preparing, choosing, tasting, watching, remembering, encouraging, or simply enjoying the aromas and conversation. This is BRANCH in action through belonging, respect, autonomy, nurture, connection, and hope.
