If your POS system utilizes barcodes, we can print them on your cards to work with your existing software. Our barcode printing process ensures that your barcodes will be clear and readable by your scanner for reliable and efficient processing.
Raised embossed lettering, such as names and member numbers can be added to the plastic cards we print, as well as on preprinted and blank cards. Embossed numbering is what you see used on credit cards.

FOIL STAMPING If you’re looking to add shine to your design, consider foil stamping. Most often seen in gold or silver, foil stamping is available in a variety of patterns and colors, and can be combined with a frosted or gloss finish (not matte). Use foil on your name, logo or any other area that you want to stand out.
MAGNETIC STRIPES Magnetic stripes are used in a variety of applications, from POS systems to access control and more. They come in two main varieties: high-coercivity (HiCo) and low-coercivity (LoCo). High-coercivity mag stripes are harder to erase, and are more appropriate for cards that are frequently used or require extended life. Lowcoercivity mag stripes require a lower amount of magnetic energy to record, reducing their cost. A card reader can read either type of mag stripe.

Sequential Numbering: Supply us with an Excel file, and we can create magnetic stripes or barcodes and human readable numbers with the data provided. Random: Provide us your range, and we will create random barcodes or magnetic stripe data within the stated range. Fulfillment: Already have cards that have a magnetic stripe or require barcoding? No problem. We can print them with barcodes or encode the magnetic stripe to your specifications.
Our encoding services will ensure that your magnetic stripe works with your card reader hardware and software. There are three available encoding tracks on a magnetic stripe, with the first two tracks being the most commonly used.
Note: Check with your POS system provider to answer any option questions you may have. This is important to ensure that your card’s barcode or magnetic stripe will be compatible with your POS system.

FULL FACE FOIL A full face foil background adds an attractive holographic-like shine to your card and a reflective finish. Print over the foil layer with reverse type, exposing it for additional emphasis.
DoD INKJET PRINTING If you need to personalize your card data, inkjet printing can save you money on both large and small runs. To ensure the highest quality, we utilized the Card Line Versa inkjet printer by Atlantic Zeiser – the best inkjet printer on the market today.

HOLOGRAMS
Signature panels make it easier to write on cards with any type of pen, rather than just a permanent marker. Signature panels aren’t just for customer signatures. They can also be used to add any type of information at a later time, including expiration date, member name, member join date, card dollar value, or any other information.
For added security, include a hologram on your card. A hologram is a flat image with a three-dimensional appearance. Our strongest fraud-prevention feature, holograms cannot be duplicated by any known printing technique, and provide quick and easy authentication with the naked eye.
METALLIC INK Your cards will shine with metallic ink. Add a pop of shimmer to your logo or other card areas. Metallic ink can also be applied to the full card background for an overall glitter effect.

When a code is required to access the card value, a scratch off is the perfect solution. Scratch offs have been used in the phone card industry for decades, and are gaining popularity with gift cards. We can customize scratch off size and placement.

FINISHES SPOT UV INK You can choose to highlight a particular area (or areas) of a card by applying a silkscreen UV coating.
RAISED INK Add dimension to your design with raised ink. Raised ink is a clear substance applied over the top of a print area, creating a threedimensional effect.

Card finish can have a big impact on the overall look and feel of your final product. Our most popular finishes are the overlay and frosted options, but we have many other options to choose from. Something to keep in mind is that some printing options only work with certain finishes. If you’re not sure which finish is right for your project, contact us to discuss your options.

UV COAT UV coating is a gloss finish that is normally used for basic one-time-use cards, such as gift or promotional cards. Note: Once a UV coat is applied, thermal printing cannot be applied. If your cards require variable data or a barcode, an overlay finish (below) is recommended.
WRITEABLE MATTE Great for luggage tags and business cards, our writeable matte finish allows for writing on the entire card surface or just a portion of the card.
OVERLAY
CANVAS
A similar look to the UV coat, overlays allow for post-production printing on cards, which is perfect for adding member information or other information at a later date.
This is a silkscreen process which can be applied as an overall finish to a card or integrated into the design, and gives the feel of canvas to the area where the silkscreen process was applied.
FROSTED For a more refined look, consider a frosted finish. Frosted finishes do not have the sheen of a gloss finish, and offer a smooth and professional appearance.
MATTE For durability and texture, a matte finish is tough to beat. The granular feel of a matte finish makes scratches less noticeable, and can add to the overall warmth and strength of your design.
LACED This finish provides a brushed metal appearance to cards. Not available for clear cards.
FLOCKED With a felt-like texture, flocked cards are manufactured using a process that deposits thousands of small fiber particles (called flock) onto the card surface. Flock can be added to specific card areas or the entire card, creating warmth, texture and visual dimension.
SCENTED MATTE Scented matte finishes have a similar finish and feel as matte, but with the option of having a scent applied. Scents can be applied to the entire card or to specific areas of the artwork. PAPER COATED If you like the look of paper but the durability of plastic, paper coated cards are the right choice. By applying a layer of paper over the top of the card, we are able to produce a long-lasting card with a paper texture.

One of the benefits of printing on plastic is the ability to take advantage of transparent PVC card stock. Incorporating transparency into your design offers one of the most distinctive looks available, providing design options that are transparent, translucent or opaque.
METAL Whether you’re shopping for business cards or VIP membership cards, consider the unique look and feel of metal. Metal cards are a great way to solidify your brand and increase card retention. Choose from an assortment of die cut and finish options, including stainless steel, black metal, brass, copper, etched and more. Add up to six spot colors, with PANTONE® matching available, as well as variable data.
PVC STANDARD MATERIAL (Polyvinyl Chloride) PVC card stock comes in solid white, and is the industry-standard material for many plastic card applications like gift cards, phone cards, access control cards and more.
BLACK CORE For an extra measure of sophistication on your black cards, consider using a black core card stock. Black core replaces the white edge visible on PVC cards with a sleek black edge.

TESLIN Teslin is a synthetic substrate that’s extremely durable, and can be less expensive than plastic. It’s abrasion resistant, waterproof and perfect for multi-card die cuts that can pose a challenge when using PVC.

PETG (Polyethylene Terephthalate Glycol) If you’re looking for a more environmentally friendly card material, consider PETG, which is derived from polyester, and is 100% recyclable. Widely used by credit card makers, PETG is biodegradable and doesn’t emit harmful gases. PETG exhibits the same characteristics as PVC, such as durability and a wide array of print and finish options.

F01 CARRIER Our largest and most popular fold-over carrier, the model F01 provides ample space for brand messaging and other design elements, as well as any disclaimer information you require. Two slits hold your card securely in place inside the folded carrier.

GENERAL INFORMATION
1. PREP ARTWORK
Effective Date – The specifications in this catalog are effective June 1, 2014, and are subject to change without notice. Repeat Orders - Please enclose a sample of your previous order, your company’s previous purchase order number, and our previous invoice number. Repeat orders without any artwork changes will not incur a set up fee.
2. CONTACT OUR SALES TEAM
Production Time - Production time on all standard products is approximately 14 to 18 working days from the date of order entry. Orders cannot be entered for production until all of the following information has been received: item type, quantity, ink colors, and a signed factory artwork authorization. Production time does not include time required for order clarification, approval of customer-emailed artwork by our art department, proof approvals, or any changes requested after the order has been entered.
3. SEND ARTWORK
Deadline Orders - If your order is required by a specific date, please specify a required ship date and authorization for method of shipment. We will provide you with the date that it is possible to get your order to its destination, and make every effort to meet your deadline. Shipping - Orders are shipped via FedEx Ground, and typically take 3-5 days to arrive. Priority shipping is also available at a higher rate, with expected ship times of 1-2 days. All ship-to addresses are verified by our address verification software. However, we do not guarantee that our software will identify an invalid address. If the shipping address is found to be invalid, we will contact you to obtain the correct address. Orders returned for incorrect addresses are subject to a $12 handling charge plus freight charges to re-ship the order. Orders with multiple drop ship locations will be billed additional handling charges based on the number of shipping locations, in addition to freight charges.
4. PROOF APPROVAL
Postal Shipments - Orders shipped via US Postal Service must be at the customer’s request. Shipments are considered delivered upon receipt by the Post Office. We are not responsible for shipments after the Post Office has received your order. Special Packaging – Packaging services such as shrink wrapping and banding are available. Every effort is made to package your order in the quantities you request. Further costs may incur. Minimum Quantities - We have a minimum order requirement of 250 cards, which allows us to offer you more competitive pricing. Custom Die Cut Orders - Subject to quotation. Please contact us for a quote.
ORDERING PROCESS
Returns – Returns are not accepted without prior written authorization, and must be accompanied by a return materials authorization (RMA) number. Claims must be made within ten days of receipt of goods.
1. Prep Artwork: Before you begin the ordering process, the first thing you’ll need to do is prepare your artwork for print. Follow our artwork specifications (pg. 45). If you don’t have artwork prepared, we offer design services to assist you.
Product Liability - Merchandise becomes customer property upon delivery to shipping carrier. If shipment is delayed, damaged or lost by carrier, any claim must be filed with the shipping carrier by the customer. We take no responsibility for merchandise once it is delivered to the carrier. Costs to replace lost or damaged goods will be paid by the customer, in addition to costs for the initial order.
2. Contact Our Sales Team: If you don’t choose to use our design services, once your artwork is prepared, contact us to ready your project for production.
Cancellations - All cancellations must be confirmed in writing. All costs incurred prior to cancellation will be billed. Orders that have already reached our platemaking department will result in a plate-making fee. Orders past the plate-making department cannot be cancelled.
3. Send Artwork: All prepared artwork can be sent directly to your sales representative’s email address or through an online file sharing service. Once we receive your artwork and understand your requirements, we will generate a high-resolution pdf proof for your review. 4. Proof Approval: If you would like to make revisions to your artwork, let your sales representative know. If your artwork is approved, fax or email a signed copy, and we will submit your order for final production.
Samples - Samples of our products are available upon request at no charge. Compensation - Customer shall indemnify and hold us harmless from any and all loss, cost, damage and expense, including, without limitation, reasonable attorney’s fees, on account of any and all claims, demands, actions and liability for patent or copyright infringements, proprietary rights and violations, claims of libel, slander, or obscenity, invasion of privacy, or other personal rights violations. Any and all artwork containing copyrighted material, patented information, trademarks, of other intellectual property supplied to us for reproduction shall be deemed to have a proper authorization to be reproduced. Catalog Photography and Samples - These are for demonstration only and do not imply a relationship with the companies shown. They are not presented for resale, nor do they represent product or brand name endorsements by or for the trademark owners. All trademarks are the property of their respective owners. We hold no accountability in trademark or copyright disputes. Catalog photography and samples showing logos, designs, insignias or any trademarks serve only as examples of imprinting capabilities and techniques for the products and services that we offer.

PROOFING Artwork Changes and Corrections - Any change after the proof stage requires additional art and preparation, which will be billed at cost. There can be no further changes once a job has been plated and is press-ready. Artwork Proofs - All proofs must be signed with the customer’s signature, dated and returned prior to proceeding with the order. Digital proofs will not match PMS colors exactly, and should be used as a guide only. Phone approvals cannot be accepted. The customer is responsible for any and all errors that may have been overlooked on a signed proof. All costs incurred after proof approval, including reprints, will be the customer’s responsibility. We accept no responsibility for any errors after proof approval.

ART REQUIREMENTS Artwork Templates - Templates for standard size plastic cards (CR80) are available in Adobe Photoshop (.psd) and Adobe Illustrator (.ai) formats by request. Formats - Given the option, we would prefer artwork files to be submitted in either an .eps file format or a high resolution print ready .pdf file format. All vector art (.ai, .eps) should have text outlined or set to curves. All pixel based artwork (.psd, .pdf, .tif) should all have a minimum of 300 dpi resolution. Artwork can be submitted in its original native format, but linked images need to be enclosed with the original artwork files. We can accept file formats from Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe InDesign. Database Files - Data files that contain encoding information, thermal printing, or any personalization should be submitted in either an Excel format or a text document. Fonts - Please check all vector EPS files and send along font files for those graphics. Do NOT use “applied” type styles in the control or measurements palettes to make the type bold or italic. Please always choose the bold or italic versions of the font from the font list in order to prevent unexpected print results. Bleeds - All submitted artwork is required to have full bleeds. Bleeds should extend to 1/8” past the die line of the card. Coloring - Save all color photos and vector images as CMYK if the job is to be 4-color process. Specify which colors are to be spot and which colors are to be 4-color process. Choose colors from the Pantone swatch books, rather than color combinations that look good on your monitor. Colors from a low-end, non-color managed printer do NOT represent the color that will be printed. Please provide any previously printed cards or collateral pieces that we may use to match for color. Linked graphic files - This includes all graphics that were placed from vector programs such as Illustrator as well as any images placed into vector programs. For example: if you have created a logo in Adobe Illustrator that contains a Photoshop image, you must provide us with both the Illustrator file as well as the Photoshop file. Graphics application programs will not collect the Photoshop file, so you must manually copy it. All graphics should be in EPS or tiff format. Please avoid PICT and Windows BMP files. All color and grayscale photos need to be at 300 dpi at the final size that they will be used in your document. All color scans must be saved in the CMYK color space. We will not accept RGB color. Card Options - Please show all options on your artwork and state as FPO (for placement only). Prior to production, we will remove all FPO barcodes, mag stripes, data, etc. File transfers - Digital files can be sent via e-mail, or you may use a file transfer site. Please make sure your artwork is final when presented to us. Turnaround time for artwork is normally the next business day, depending on the time the artwork is received.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Are there samples available of your cards? Yes, we will be glad to send you free samples of our cards by request. How do I place an order? Orders can be placed by phone or electronically. Is there a certain thickness to your cards? Yes, our cards start at 12 mil and go to 60 mil in thickness. A 30mil card thickness is most common. Can I use my own design? Yes, you are welcome to provide us with your own design. Personal designs can be emailed or sent to us via file sharing software (see “Artwork Requirements” on pg 45). There is a small set up fee for provided artwork. I do not have a designer. Can you create a design for my company? Our experienced design team can assist you in creating a professional design, offering you an affordable alternative to using an outside design firm. Contact us for a consultation, and we will be happy to provide you with a quote. If I were to have you create a design, will I get to approve it before it goes to production? Yes, all card projects require a signed proof prior to production. How long will it take to receive my cards? Orders take at least 14-18 days plus shipping time to arrive at your door, once final approval is received. Turnaround time may vary depending on options and quantities.
ARTWORK SUBMISSION CHECKLIST Common Problems with Artwork Supplied: • Fonts are missing. • Type modified using the style palette (i.e. bold or italic) rather than using the appropriate typeface from font list. • Graphics are missing or low resolution. • Artwork color is supplied in RGB and not CMYK. • Line art (logos) saved in 300 dpi grayscale format, rather than 1200 dpi bitmap format. • Graphic does not meet the 1/8” bleed requirements. • Embedded graphics from vector files not supplied. • Supplying only the final Photoshop EPS file instead of also including the original layered Photoshop file. Accepted Software: • Adobe Illustrator CS • Adobe Photoshop CS • Adobe PDF - High Resolution We cannot accept other software files, including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Publisher and Microsoft Powerpoint. Production Specifications and Proofs: • Carefully check spelling, layout and specifications. The proof indicates the exact spelling and location of copy, magnetic stripes, hole punching, sequential numbering, signature panels, and/or other options on your card. • Exact PMS matches cannot be guaranteed. Every effort will be made to match a PMS color. Certain ink colors or overprinting of inks may cause variance. • Any changes or alterations in your design or copy will require a new proof and will also affect your ship date. Your ship date is estimated after you approve of your final artwork. • Let your representative know specifically what you want to see printed – front, back or both.
Can I get a refund if I change my mind on my order? You can cancel your order before we start final production. Once your signed proof approval is received, there are no refunds. Cancellations prior to final approval are eligible for a full refund. There is a $20.00 service fee that is non-refundable. Is there a minimum order requirement? We have a minimum order requirement of 250 cards to offer you the most competitive pricing. I found prices lower than yours. Will you match the price? We will do our best to match the lowest price quoted from others. We cannot guarantee that we will match a given price. A copy of the competitive quote is required. If I am ordering clear cards and color matching is important, what information do I need to provide? On clear cards, it can be difficult to match colors exactly the way you want them to appear. To best match the color you want, please provide us with Pantone colors, and we will make our best effort to match these colors. Expect matching to Pantone colors to be about 80-90% accurate.
