OVNA OVICH is all about wearable stories, clothes that feel as good to live in as they do to look at. The label began in 2012 after founder and creative director Marina Davis had a lightbulb moment: fashion could be a force for good.

Drawing on her Eastern European roots and British upbringing, she set out to create pieces that balance softness and structure, ease and intention.

With a background in dance and performance design, Marina said she still designs with movement at the forefront, considering how clothes flow when you walk, how they feel when you sit, and how they live with you throughout the day.

“I try to strip things back. Avoid unnecessary elements and focus on proportion, fabric, and feeling. If something feels good on the body and easy to live with, it naturally lasts longer - both physically and emotionally,” she said.

This Valentine’s season, love is literally in the air in Auckland as the city prepares to welcome its first international tattoo convention. Honestly? It’s kind of romantic.

Roots Auckland Tattoo Convention is landing at The Cloud, Queens Wharf for one artistic weekend this March, bringing together world-class tattoo artists, live tattooing, competitions, exhibitions and all the good festival energy.

The convention is the brainchild of husband-and-wife duo Ben and Madeline Kaye (co-owners of Ship Shape Tattoo), which means this whole thing was built on love, ink and very good taste.
