Binghamton University’s vibrant research community is going to play a huge role in bringing battery manufacturing to New York. The U.S. Economic Development Administration’s announcement will be a boost for the upstate New York economy, and it marks a significant milestone on our campus as well. New Energy New York, launched in collaboration with partners focused on issues such as battery R&D, supply chain and workforce development, instantly became our largest-ever research initiative. The news, which we received last fall, followed a year full of encouraging developments.
