History Fort Lauderdale Presents A Mid-century Modern Spring Exhibition

Miami is revving up for an unforgettable Formula 1 Grand Prix weekend from Friday, May 2nd – Sunday 4th, 2025, blending high-speed thrills with worldclass dining, nightlife and celebrity-studded events. Whether you’re a motorsport enthusiast or a social scene seeker, the Magic City offers a curated selection of hotspots to eat, drink and be seen during race week. From waterfront lounges to Michelin-starred eateries, Miami’s culinary landscape is as dynamic as the race itself. Boia De: A beloved neighborhood restaurant and one of Miami’s toughest reservations, Boia De is a labor of love from talented Chef Couple and James Beard Award nominees Luciana Giangrandi and Alex Meyer. The restaurant was recently honored by the Michelin Guide as one of the first restaurants in Florida to receive a star. Located in Miami’s up and coming Little Haiti neighborhood, the funky, intimate eatery boasts a retro-modern style, comfortably chic furnishings and a modern American menu with Italian influences. History Fort Lauderdale, in celebration of National Historic Preservation Month, will present “Lauderdale Living: The Architecture of Possibilities” from Thursday, May 1st, 2025 – Sunday, June 29th, 2025. The spring exhibition will showcase rarely seen historical photographs from the museum’s collection alongside contemporary works by artists Christina Lihan and Abby Laughlin. A free public opening reception with the artists will take place on Thursday, May 1st, 2025 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., at the New River Inn Museum of History building on History Fort Lauderdale’s campus, located at 231 Southwest Second Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33301. “We’re thrilled to showcase this exhibition that celebrates the unique architectural and aesthetic character that helps define Fort Lauderdale’s identity,” said Patricia Zeiler, Executive Director of History Fort Lauderdale. “By pairing rare historic images with the visionary work of Christina Lihan and Abby Laughlin, we’re bridging the past with the present in a way that invites both reflection and imagination.” Florida-based artist Christina Lihan transforms delicate paper into intricate sculptural land-
