and their focus unwavering. Each turn of the wheel and every maneuver showcase the expertise needed to guide massive buses through Broward County’s busy streets, a task they perform daily with unmatched professionalism. The 2025 competition welcomes “Flash” Jacquan, the 2024 Broward County Roadeo winner and standout participant. In 2023, he secured the Rookie of the Year title at the state level, ranking seventh out of 19 skilled competitors—a testament to his expertise and dedication. Though Jacquan isn’t competing this year, his presence exemplifies the camaraderie and shared passion that makes the Roadeo special. But this isn’t just a test

of skill; it’s a celebration for the entire community. The Roadeo has evolved into a family-friendly festival with food trucks offering diverse cuisines, family-friendly games and activities, giveaways, and a festive atmosphere. With live DJ and radio broadcasts, the day promises memorable entertainment for all ages. At the heart of the event is a deeper message: public transit’s critical role in connecting people to jobs and essential services. Events like the Roadeo offer a glimpse into the professionalism and dedication behind each bus ride, reminding us of the oftenoverlooked individuals who keep Broward County moving. “This year’s Roadeo is a unique opportunity to bring our

community closer to the transit system,” said Coree Cuff Lonergan, CEO/General Manager of Broward County Transit. “It’s a celebration not just of skill but of the community connection that underlines Broward County Transit.” The day culminates with an award ceremony at 12:30 PM, honoring the operators who have excelled in the competition. Beyond the trophies, the winners earn the privilege of representing Broward County Transit at the 2025 Florida Triple Crown Roadeo in Gainesville later this month. If they win at the State level, they will have the distinct honor of representing BCT at the International Bus Roadeo in Austin, TX in April.
