Today, nonprofit group Solar United Neighbors (SUN) announced the opening of the Miami-Dade 2024 Solar Co-op to help residents, businesses and non-profits in the area go solar. The co-op is free to join and open to homeowners and business owners in Miami-Dade County. Together, co-op members will learn about solar energy and leverage their numbers to purchase individual solar systems at a competitive price and top quality. As Floridians are rebuilding and recovering from recent hurricanes, rooftop solar paired with battery storage is one way that Miami-Dade residents can build more resilient communities. Rooftop solar paired with battery storage can keep critical appliances and medical devices up and running. In addition, rooftop solar creates local jobs, reduces greenhouse gas emissions and is the least water intensive form of energy. “If you’ve ever thought about going solar, now’s your chance,” said Laura Tellez, Associate Florida Program Director for Solar United Neighbors. “The coop will enable Miami-Dade County homeowners, nonprofits and small businesses to join the growing community of people
