Keller’s Korner - 2026 Delray Beach Open

Welcome to Keller’s Korner. The 2026 Delray Beach Open once again proved why it’s one of the most beloved stops on the tennis calendar. With eight of the world’s top 30 players in the draw, fans were treated to world-class Tennis from start to finish. Sebastian Korda captured the singles title, while Austin Krajicek and Nikola Mektic teamed up to win a thrilling doubles final.

But as always, the heart of the DBO isn’t just the Tennis—it’s the people. Here are some of the memorable conversations I had throughout the week.

Mark Baron – Tournament Director

Mark has been the steady hand guiding the DBO for 36 years—two as a Challenger event and 34 as an ATP tournament. When I asked him for his favorite DBO moment, he didn’t hesitate: When my son Ivan beat the #1 seed in 1992.

Adam Baron – Executive Director

Carrying on the family legacy, Adam oversees the operations of the Open. When asked about the most exciting DBO: Most exciting will be this year. Every year is great. His brother Ivan is the Tournament Chairman and a key to the success of this Open.

Jesse Levine – Legends Event Competitor

A former world No. 69 (2012), Jesse lit up the Legends doubles event once again—his seventh year participating.

Night one he partnered with Juan Martin del Potro, and night two with Scoville Jenkins.

On playing the Legends event: it is a lot of fun. I am close to home and friends can attend. It is an honor to play with such stars.

Jesse currently serves as Director of Racquet Sports at the Shell Bay Club, and remains deeply involved in the sport, having coached Jessica Pegula and Madison Keys.

When I asked if he had ever faced antisemitism on tour, he shared a powerful memory: In 2010 inVienna, Austria I heard antisemitic remarks from some of the fans. I just ignored it and used it as fuel to fire me up. I ended up winning the match.

Jesse’s Jewish identity is meaningful to him—he had his Bar Mitzvah in Boca Raton, reads and writes Hebrew and wears a necklace featuring a mezuzah and a tennis racket.

Amazingly, after his doubles match with Jenkins, Jesse and Scoville signed two balls and hit them into the stands. One of the balls came to me.

Brenda Levine – Jesse’s Mother

Brenda beamed with pride when speaking about her son: His Tennis is amazing, but more importantly he is a kid with a heart and soul. A mensch with a lot ofYiddishkeit.

She shared that Jesse’s father, Nate, played Tennis at Penn State and that she

used to draw chalk lines on the driveway so she and Jesse could hit balls together. Jesse’s younger brother, Daniel, has ulcerative colitis and Jesse has long planned to create a foundation to support Daniel and his Uncle Steven, who also battles the disease.

Nate Levine – Jesse’s Father

Nate added a touching memory: I loved seeing Jesse play Tennis with his grandfather Charlie when he was 93 years old. He knew early on that Jesse had the talent to turn pro.We are extremely proud of him. We raised him to be a nice and humble person.

Ben Kittay – Doubles Finalist

At just 22 years old, Ben entered the DBO doubles draw as a wild card with partner Ryan Seggerman. The duo shocked the field, reaching the doubles final and pushing Krajicek/Mektic to a tiebreaker.

On the experience: It is an amazing ATP 250 tournament. The people are super friendly and it’s a great crowd. I was happy to be playing here and getting better every week.

Gary Kittay – Ben’s Father

Gary, who played Tennis at Pikesville High School and the University of Maryland, introduced Ben to the sport when he was just four or five years old. The family was already preparing for their next stop:We’re leaving tonight for an ATP

in Lugano,

Aaron Krickstein – Former World No. 6

A Delray Beach favorite, Aaron reached No. 6 in the world in 1990 and has served as Tennis Director at St. Andrews Country Club since 2001.

He reflected on his DBO memories: My most memorable match was beating John McEnroe in the legends tour. The next year, I beat Michael Chang. Aaron attends the DBO every year and added, I am friends with the Barons and I love it here.

Jonathan Schneider – Local Tennis Enthusiast

Jonathan attends the DBO to support players he knows. This year he came to see Sebastian Korda, having played with Sebastian’s father, Petr Korda.

Tennis runs deep in his family: His grandfather played at Wimbledon. And his father, David, played on the pro tour and competed with many top players. Off the court, Jonathan owns Wimbledon Real Estate in Boca Raton. Among his clients is former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson, whose homes he has sold. He also works in his family’s diamond and jewelry business, Schneider Gem Sales.

A Final Note It was another great Delray Beach Open.

BODYROK Brings Its High-Intensity, Low-Impact Reformer Workout To Coconut Grove

BODYROK, the nationally recognized fitness studio known for its highintensity, low-impact reformer workouts, has officially opened its first South Florida location in Coconut Grove. Popular in NewYork and California for its immersive studio experience and resultsdriven training, BODYROK brings a fresh, highly structured approach to Pilatesinspired fitness to Miami under the leadership of BODYROK South Florida owners and operators Jordi Dalmau, a lifelong Miami native and former Division I football player and his mother Beatriz Salume, a former Division I tennis player at the University of Miami who remains an elite athlete today.

Each BODYROK class is a 45-minute workout performed on a custom-made reformer designed exclusively for the brand. But what truly sets BODYROK apart is its intentionally structured programming, which is designed to deliver variety, clarity and measurable results without confusion or repetition.

Each class follows a daily programming theme, with seven distinct workout formats that rotate regularly, including:

• Flow – a reverse-training style class focused on control and fluid movement

• Buns & Guns – emphasizing the arms and glutes

Located in CocoWalk, the studio offers 90 minutes of validated parking, making fitness more accessible for commuters, families and weekend visitors.

Building on the success of the Coconut Grove studio, BODYROK has already begun construction on a second South Florida location in Edgewater, slated to open in summer 2026, with plans for continued expansion throughout Miami-Dade County.

“At the end of the day, fitness should empower you,” Dalmau said. “If people leave feeling stronger, confident and supported, that’s success.”

About BODYROK

BODYROK is a boutique fitness studio with locations nationwide offering a 45minute, high-intensity, low-impact workout that blends Pilates-inspired movement with interval training on proprietary reformers. Known for its structured programming, rotating class formats, and inclusive approach to strength training, BODYROK emphasizes longevity, consistency and results—creating workouts that challenge the body while supporting it for the long term. prevention, a shift that ultimately led him to BODYROK.

“This isn’t about trends or extremes,” Dalmau said. “It’s about building strength in a way that supports your body in the long run.”

BODYROK’s programming is built to be inclusive. Instructors cue three options for every movement—a standard execution, an amplified version and a modification—allowing professional athletes, beginners, men, women and older adults to train effectively in the same room. Workouts are also displayed on instudio screens, helping members understand what’s coming next and building familiarity and confidence over time.

“Fitness can feel intimidating, especially in Miami,” said Dalmau. “For me, the most important thing is that people feel welcome. Being kind, informed and supportive is non-negotiable for our team.”

The Coconut Grove studio reflects that philosophy, pairing loud music, low lights and high energy inside the workout room with a warm, design-forward front space that makes the experience enjoyable from arrival to departure.

BODYROK’s Miami debut was intentionally placed in Coconut Grove, a neighborhood known for prioritizing wellness, community and quality of life.

• Obliques & Cheeks – targeting the obliques and glutes

• Six-Packs & Backs – focusing on core strength and posterior chain

• Core & Cardio – BODYROK’s signature cardio day, incorporating a proprietary jump board

• Cardio Sculpt – a faster-paced, cardioforward format with quicker transitions

• RockYour Body – a challenging fullbody workout offered in two variations

To avoid repetitiveness and overtraining, BODYROK switches its class theme daily and constantly rotates the programming schedule, ensuring each class feels new, challenging and thoughtfully programmed. This rotation allows clients to achieve full-body conditioning over time, properly recover muscle groups and plan complementary workouts—a structure inspired by athletic training principles. “What drew me to BODYROK was that the workout actually makes sense,” said Dalmau. “You know what muscles you’re training, you can plan your week, and you’re not guessing. That kind of structure was something I really missed after playing competitive sports.” After college, Dalmau transitioned away from high-impact gym training in favor of movement that supported strength, mobility, flexibility and injury

Dorone M. Manasse D.M.D,

What’s Trending In Travel In 2026

After years of fast-paced itineraries and social media-inspired vacations, travelers are looking to slow down in 2026, instead focusing on more personal, immersive experiences.

That’s not to say Americans will be looking to travel any less - just more intentionally. Despite economic, political and cultural shifts, travel shows no signs of slowing down this year. In fact, according to a survey conducted on behalf of ALG Vacations, 100% of respondents plan to take a vacation in the next year, with 97% likely to travel for leisure in the next 6 months despite those concerns.

Even with tightened budgets, 95% of those surveyed would still travel - even if it meant scaling back. To help travelers zero in on what they’re looking to experience in 2026, working with a travel advisor when starting to plan that annual getaway can make the process easier.

Additional survey data shows 7 in 10 travelers are turning to professionals to plan their next trips with the younger generations leading the way; 83% of Gen Z and 78% of Millennials are likely to turn to a travel advisor for help with planning and booking.

“What’s really interesting is that travel advisors are resonating with a new wave of travelers,” said ALG Vacations’ Travel Advisor Champion Carson Kressley, the Renowned Style Expert and World Traveler best known for his role on “Queer Eye for the Straight Guy” and his current Emmy Award-winning judge role on “RuPaul’s Drag Race.” “They want help uncovering hidden-gem destinations and great-value packages and a new generation of advisors is meeting them exactly where they are.”

In addition to booking your next excursion with the assistance of a travel advisor, consider these trends Kressley identified for the year ahead.

Space and Privacy

In 2026, spaciousness is an expression of luxury - private villas, low-density boutique resorts and nature-framed hideaways where quiet feels curated and beauty isn’t shared with the masses. As travelers prioritize serenity over scene, this trend reflects an emotional need for clarity as they look for time to reset and environments that support genuine presence.

Immersion in Culture and Hyper-Local

Travelers desire authentic experiences shaped by local chefs, artisans and storytellers who bring a destination’s heritage to life. It’s no longer about observing culture from a distance; it’s about actively participating in it with the destination’s native citizens, reflecting a desire for meaning and perspective.

Longer, More Intentional Vacations

Instead of rushing through multiple destinations, travelers are embracing itineraries that allow them to breathe through longer stays and experiences that unfold naturally. From a lingering lunch to an unstructured afternoon, this shift toward savoring prioritizes depth and connection.

Transformational Wellness

As wellness continues to evolve into deeply personal territory, travelers seek experiences that restore mind, body and perspective such as sunrise rituals, nature-led healing, cultural wellness traditions & programs designed for renewal.

Screen-Inspired Destinations

Pop culture continues to influence travel, but today’s travelers seek more

than filming locations. In 2026, they’re searching for dramatic landscapes, atmospheric architecture, richly layered cultures and experiences that evoke emotion and capture the feeling of their favorite cinematic worlds. This evolution of set-jetting is about stepping into a story rather than tracing its steps.

Shared Multi-Generational Moments

Multi-generational travel is shifting toward more purpose-driven experiences - milestone celebrations, cultural reconnection trips and meaningful moments together. The emphasis is on togetherness, personalization and experiences that feel like legacy.

Keller’s Korner - Jewish In Olympic Hockey: 1936 & 2026

Welcome to Keller’s Korner. When Jack Hughes slapped the overtime goal into the net that lifted the USA men’s hockey team to Olympic gold, my mind went to another Jewish hockey hero.

Ninety years earlier, Rudi Ball stood at the center of a very different Olympic drama. He was the only Jewish athlete to compete for Germany at the 1936 winter Olympic Games, where his performance represented a remarkable and little known act of Jewish resilience under the thumb of the Nazi regime.

As a collector of Jewish sports memorabilia, I happen to own three of the very few surviving Rudi Ball 1933 German cigarette trading cards as Hitler wanted to burn things of Jews. I also happen to live in South Florida, where the U.S. men’s team traveled to celebrate their win in Milan. I wanted to share the story of Rudi Ball with Jack Hughes and his brother Quinn, as well as a third Jewish player on the national team, Jeremy Swayman. It’s not my typical milieu, but I made my way on Monday to the nightclub E11even Miami with two Ball cards in hand.

There, I got a chance to tell Jack Hughes about the most important Jewish hockey player before him. I told him I had

emailed his Jewish mother, Ellen Weinberg-Hughes, in the past as she herself is a hockey Olympian.

Rudi Ball is a name most fans today have never heard, yet he was one of Germany’s brightest hockey talents before Hitler took power in 1933. Like the Hughes brothers today, Rudi came from a hockey family — he and his two brothers all played the sport. He starred for Germany at the 1932 Olympics, scoring three goals and helping the team win a bronze medal. At a time of rising antisemitism, his success brought pride to German Jews. But when the 1936 Winter Olympics were awarded to GarmischPartenkirchen, Hitler’s hatred of Jews was already well known. The German Olympic Committee did not want Rudi on the team because of his Jewish heritage (his father was Jewish). His Christian teammates were outraged. According to my research, Gustav Jaenecke and two others confronted German officials and delivered an ultimatum: “If Rudi doesn’t play, we don’t play.” Hitler relented.

Rudi agreed to perform the Nazi salute at the Games — a painful compromise — in exchange for safe passage out of Germany for his family. They fled to South Africa.

Rudi was injured during the Olympic games, and Germany finished fifth, but his presence on that ice remains one of the most remarkable and little-known acts of Jewish resilience in sports history.

It also had a cruel postscript: Rudi was obligated to continue playing for a Berlin team throughout the war, meaning that he was one of a very few Jews to survive the Holocaust on German soil, maintaining his freedom but watching his community be annihilated. Still, after the war, his brother Gerhard, also a talented hockey player, returned to Germany where the pair played together for several years before relocating permanently to South Africa.

Ninety years later, the world is again experiencing a surge in antisemitism. And again, a pair of hockey-playing Jewish brothers are in the spotlight.

But things are different this time. For one thing, Jewish representation in the Olympics is stronger. Back in 1936, the U.S. Olympic committee chairman was a Nazi sympathizer who boasted about how few Jews were on the national delegation. This time, dozens of Jews competed in Milan, including three on the men’s hockey team and more than a dozen on the Israeli team.

What’s more, the brothers who took the ice say antisemitism hasn’t been part of their life.

When I asked whether he or his brothers had ever experienced discrimination because of being Jewish, Jack answered simply: “No, we have not.” All three brothers had bar mitzvahs and are proud of their Jewish identity, which comes from their mother, who served as a player development coach for this year’s gold medal-winning women’s hockey team. Ellen Weinberg-Hughes said, “It all seems surreal. I could not be prouder of both the men and women’s teams.” She added, “I did not like Jack being hit in the mouth but [was] thrilled with the goal.” I showed Jack two rare 1933 German hockey cigarette cards of Rudi Ball, and we posed for a photo holding them together. To me, it was a most meaningful encounter: Rudi Ball fought simply to stand on the ice. Jack Hughes, Quinn Hughes, and Jeremy Swayman stood tall on the ice and won gold for their country. Both moments, separated by 90 years, remind us how powerful Jewish pride in sports can be.

Bill Charlap, one of the premier Jazz

Pianists of his generation and a two-time Grammy-nominated artist, joins forces with the young and sensational Pianist Brandon Goldberg in a unique performance that will take audiences on a special journey through the Great American Songbook.

Often described as the golden treasury of American popular music, the Great American Songbook refers to the rich body of influential songs written between the 1920’s and the 1960’s. Drawn largely from Broadway theater, Hollywood musicals, and the legendary world of Tin Pan Alley, these works are celebrated for their elegant melodies, sophisticated harmonies, lyrics of wit, romance and emotional depth.

Over the decades, these timeless standards have been brought to life by iconic interpreters such as Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Judy Garland, and Tony Bennett, whose performances helped define the enduring spirit of American song.

In this special collaboration, Charlap and Goldberg will revisit these beloved classics with imagination, elegance, and spontaneity—bridging generations while celebrating one of the most treasured tra-

ditions in American music.

Patrons of Exceptional Artists’ Mission Exceptionally talented pianists, with unwavering dedication, devote their entire youth to developing their skills, abiding by rigid, demanding schedules and focusing on achieving a successful music career. During this arduous process, they often find themselves lost without the support and understanding of a benefactor. That is where the mission and purpose of Patrons of Exceptional Artists comes in, an organization that, for the last 25 years, has brought the talent of countless deserving pianists to the attention of the public, conductors, and agents. Many of our artists are now in the international circuit, represented by top management.

To enrich its mission, in 1998, Patrons of Exceptional Artists branched out to create the now-celebrated Miami International Piano Festivals and Academy, where students experience the hands-on immersion of working closely with an outstanding international faculty.

In the winter, the MIPFA takes place at the beautiful Cadet Hotel in Miami Beach, and in the summer at the Gustav Mahler Cultural Center in Dobbiaco, Italy, a gateway to the Dolomites, about which

Mahler wrote, “Dobbiaco is extraordinary: it tempers your body and soul.”

We have also expanded our outreach through an online State-Of-The-Art virtual platform that continues to evolve, creating an archive and visual library of all MIPF activities. The goal is to provide global exposure to our artists while allowing music lovers worldwide to enjoy our concerts, lectures and masterclasses. The Miami International Piano Festival concerts are interactive experiences that engage our audiences and enhance their appreciation of music in its infinite prism of ideas and emotions.

Giselle Brodsky, Founder and Artistic Director of Patrons of Exceptional Artists, spends hundreds of hours listening to innumerable performances of hopeful applicants to select artists who, with their passion and commitment to the expression of music, will inspire and be inspired by our faculty, students, and audience.
